Nova Report
The 16-4 Villanova Wildcats Head north to Chicago for a 8:00 pm eastern contest with the DePaul Blue Demons. The Big News is the predicted -60 degree wind chill tonight. Locals calling today the coldest day of their lives. Will it be ?hot? in the Arena?
Nova is -6/146.5 this evening. On January 2 of this year the Cats, at Villanova, took their first lead of the game with 7:58 to go vs DePaul in a 73-68 victory. Since then, both teams have improved but Villanova more so.
For DePaul, they will try to stop Paschall and Gillespie with occasional double teams. The only player that can stop Phil Booth is Phil Booth. He is playing at an NBA level. Nova has two Cats playing through injuries: Gillespie and Cosby-Roundtree.
DePaul has been getting incredible production recently out of Reed and Olujobi (18.2 and 17.6 ppg respectively) over the last 6 games. This has taken scoring pressure off of Strus and Cain.
For Nova, it all starts with defense. The Arena will be rocking tonight and unlike the last game vs DePaul where Nova was down by 12 before you could pop open your first beer, Wright will have his team jacked up defensively and look to take the crowd out of the game.
Nova is improving every game and despite their injuries they will be tough enough to cover the 6.
Nova-6 is my play.
