i'm going to preface my following comments with the fact that i've comsumed a large quantity of vodka.

ah... bowl season. love it. starting off with a good one, unlike the crap fest we have tomorrow night.

utah (-8.5) 2 units. love the utes here. my biggest concern is that they have recovered from the loss to byu to finish the season. very, very tough loss there. navy seems to be everybody's darling tonight. ooh, look at that great triple option offense. has anybody looked at navy's schedule? well, i have.

temple (69th vs the run)
rutgers (62nd vs the run)
ball state (99th vs the run)
duke (84th vs the run)
air force (37th vs the run)
pitt (36th vs the run)
wake forest (17th vs the run)
delaware (a nice d1 AA team)
notre dame (95th vs the run)
north texas (115th vs the run)
northern ill (111th vs the run)
army (117th vs the run)

hmmm... not the strongest competition. sure, utah is only 35th against the run, but that is the second best run defense that navy has faced. and when they went against the best run d they've faced this year (wake)? they lost by 20. also... utah played air force this year, who has a similar offense. they held air force to 20 points.

oh, and utah's offense? brian johnson is back. well, let's just say i am a big fan of brian johnson. i expect him to have a monster night.
