When I was younger I really liked the val kilmer movie "the saint" so just started using it as my handle online.
Just my initials. I use GM on a few different boards, but use different names on any board that is not gambling-related.
As for YYZ, in addition to being a Rush song, is also the airport code for Toronto. (Extra bit of trivia...at the start of that song, the riff at the start spells out "Y-Y-Z" over and over again in morse code...kinda neat).

Very simply it's a shortened version of my last name, used most often by my old coach. In high school I was a point guard who saw himself as not only a one but a two guard as well, so at times I was reluctant to pass the ball. My coach called me spang and often used it in the following sentences.
"Pass the GD ball Spang"
"Run the GD play Spang"
"Sit your ass on the bench Spang"
To this day when I run into an old teammate, I am usually greeted with one of those sentences.

Growing up in Birmingham, Alabama; people were huge fans of Alabama and Auburn without any ties to said universities other that living in the same state. This annoyed me especially as the local University (University of Alabama at Birmingham ?UAB?) desperately attempted to gain attendance and respect. I attended UAB and adopted ?BhamBlazer?. I still hold the hotmail account, ESPN account, and some other boards. I moved to Nashville and used ?Blazer? on some more anonymous accounts and this one.

If people don?t understand I tell them?. go ask LSU (and last year Kentucky) who UAB is and they will tell you.
UAB is also a great road dog ATS in football.
