ARK hung tough with TX a couple years ago at home....lost that one SU, but covered. Houston Nutt is a big game coach IMO..especially in non conference games..he's going to have his team more than ready! Getting absolutley embarrased last year 70-17 I'm sure is enough motivation for them. ARK can win this SU....no doubt in my mind, but from a betting stand point this isn't a game I'm putting my money on. With my capping nothing makes it a play on either side. Gonna watch this one as it's going to be a good game!!!! No blowout here IMO......

Akron, new QB for Penn St. and they won't be sneaking up on anyone this year. Also, keep a close on the weather as it is supposed to rain pretty heavily throughout the next few days into the weekend.

Jr, do you think Akron wins outright, or do you just like them with the points?

I was thinking about taking Penn State in a teaser.

I just don't see Akron winning in that type of environment. I know Penn State has a new QB, but I just can't see a MAC team like Akron really challenging them.

I think Penn State -3 is a safe play in the teaser.

Thanks.

BB, no I don't feel Akron can win the game, but if the weather holds true with what appears to be forecasted who knows. If you are teasing the game Penn St as you had mentioned at -3 looks awfully good, but then again I rarely play teasers. The Zips have a senior QB in Getsy and maybe he can find a way to limit mistakes/turnovers. Morelli might turn out to be good, but in his true first game one would think he may struggle. Good luck with your plays.

So. Cal
Sorry blg, I missed your post.

What is your reasoning behind this?

Historically, every time Arkansas is in a big game they seem to choke.

The problem I am having with USC is that I don't really know how good they will be.

There are a lot of question marks here with this team. Such as qb, rb, defense, etc.

I might just skip this game.

I could see it being a USC blowout, but I guess you are right, it would not really shock me to see Arkansas win.

Thanks.

I dont have a bet on ark SU or with the points but I do have a play on the under. So by no means am i predicting an SC loss, but I think it is the most probable of the bigs to go down.

An inexperienced SC team at all the positions you mentioned traveling across country against a team that has been waiting for them all offseason. I mean honestly is there a bigger game this season for Ark after thier embarrasment last year.

Dont get me wrong, there will be upsets the first week, but Arizona getting beat by BYU? YAWN! Rutgers over UNC? ZZZZZZ

Are these really something that would make you sit up in your chair if you caught the bottomline on ESPN? Hardly, unless of course your predicting a big season for UA or UNC.

Best of luck with your plays, but IMO there are much more certain teams than the SC game. Like ND for example. But of course they are know sure bet either!

Anyone think Bama could go down?

I don't see it, but I have heard that they are having a lot of problems this year.

Plus, Hawaii is looking good.

I still just can't see a team like Hawaii beating a team like Bama........in Bama.

Any thoughts?

I am not sure what kind of problems they are having other than the Juwan Simpson and DJ Hall issues. I would not be surprised if JS plays as all charges were dropped and he has passed 5 drug test including one the day after the incident. There D is extremely fast and they hit hard. They lost a couple of playmakers in the secondary but I don't think they lose outright. I believe their Offense will be more productive than last year as JP Wilson isn't constently looking to go deep, like Croyle. But, how could their offense be less productive? I do like HA getting 17' though.

I'm with this guy. Steve has always had problems with the toughness of SEC West opponents (especially MSU). USC isn't putting anyone away on the road and Croom will pump some life into this sad sack. Norwood leaves a huge void, but QB Henig has shown signs of big play potential.

I like Utah and Temple too.

Think BYU has the team to win straight up, catching a full td is a nice place to be.

As far as big dogs Kentucky and Vandy both have what it takes to stay within the number (which isn't saying much since they are both catching over 3 tds.)
