I'm new to this forum, but have been posting at others for over 10 years. When I post I always give my record and units won or lost. So many posters here do not give their YTD record. Is there a reason?

From what I have seen so far, there are many good posters, but without a YTD record it's meaningless!

Without YTD figures, anyone that's new, does not know what to think. I say be proud of your record, win or lose at least you have the balls to post!!!!:toast:

Just saying......

Good luck to all

I have ALWAYS posted my record with my attempts & many here still do. Not like it was 5-10 years ago when almost everyone would post their wins & loses. Things have changed around here for sure & with my recent woes in the Bases I am tempted not too post my terrible record but will continue too do so for old time sake.

Good Luck!!! :0008

Most touts don't even post their records & people pay them. This would be a good job for you posting records ask Jack or IE.

here's another take on posted records. I envy guys that have the time to keep up with their record in all sports. historically, when I post plays, I try to keep a running tally of a streak or a trend or a system in one sport, and I barely manage to keep that up over any period, my book keeps track of all my plays, and he tells me im doing ok. the guys on this forum I follow, I don't really care what their short term record is in any sport. I've followed them for years and I am familiar with how the handicap, so much that I can usually sense who they'll be on before I open their thread. I want to see their plays for validation of my own picks, or to reexamine conflicting plays.

so, while playing off posted records is ok, I see it kinda like chasing the streak, that is, by the time it looks inviting, the laws of big numbers and randomness catches up with them.

i'll take the handicapper as opposed to the number every time.

I've said it many times before: If a poster doesn't post at least one of the following, you are foolish to follow him, unless you keep his record for your own purposes:

1. A detailed record, including wins and losses and plus or minus units. If there is a significant difference in the amount bet for plays, that should be detailed also. If it is not, the poster's record is misleading by including a large amount on few plays.

Or

2. A detailted write-up of the reasoning behind the play, enough to allow the reader to make his a decision to follow or not based on the information given.

I don't even look at the threads of those that don't post at least one of the above. Good luck, evenyone.:0008

Just fuckin' ask the forum who people like... My fav posters to check for MLB are:

1. Bad Angel - usually posts 3-5 mlb plays/day. You can always count on some hot streaks which are great for parlays. He posts his record.
2. Deezy - usually focuses on one game and pounds it 2 or 3 ways. He posts his record.
3. IE - typically posts a play or two per day. Almost always first half OVER totals. Posts his record. Only caveat is he's Canadian so I'm not sure he understands the game...

I agree. FWIW, almost every quality handicapper on this site posts their record. Cheers.
