I'd guess if you ever want to play det on the road, doing it with redman pitching is your best bet; I'd guess if you want to play against ana at home, going against appier is your best bet: put them together and you got 2 units on det. ANA has not won with Appier at home in last 5 tries, and he sports an ERA close to 6.00. Of course, redman sports and era under 3.00 on the road in last 5, but has only 2 wins to show for it. That's why the line is still +175...det not good. Det wins this matchup 2 out of 5 times, which looks good for the line.
Despite pitching so-so, wood has put cubs in position to win almost every game--if this guy didn't waste so many pitches and could go 8 inns a game, the cubs pen wouldn't be so much of an issue. All sign point to 8 inngs this time: Cubs Win, Cubs Win!
