I do bet. Oddly, I even win from time to time. Made a nice killing in bases this season, and am winning a tad in hoops this year. Football is always a bad scene for me, and this year was no different.
I am not negitive about "almost everything", either. Because I don't share the unrealistic beliefs that most losers do, I am negitive in your eyes. So be it. A loser justifies why he loses, rather than except it for what it is. Nick makes some very valid points when he speaks about gambling. Money management, setting goals, etc. All very sound ideas. But it still takes a fair amount of luck to fall on your side. There is nothing more disgusting in handicapping, then to have the game figured out, and have a punt return run back, or a balk score a run, or a weak technical foul cost you a game. These are the things that soured me the most about handicapping. Handicapping your ass off won't win the bet for you.
You can hardly find anyone on this board who makes money doing this, yet everyone wants to think they can beat the game. Nick gets pissed at me, and decides to call me names, and poke fun at me, because it makes him feel better about being a loser at this. He knows I am correct, as most of you do, as well. This game is near impossible to beat. Everyone clamors that it is beatable, and they can do it, and blah, blah, blah........Yet there are no clear cut year in, and year out winners here, or at any other forum I have ever been at. I challenge any of you to dispute this claim with concrete proof. That is out of thousands of guys! Are they all just "unlucky"? Are they all "poor money managers"? You people can't be that stupid. Do this long enough, and you will realize that you better only be doing it for fun, and not to pay the rent.
There is no "long term/short term" at this........there is "one term". Score starts getting kept when you make your first wager, and ends when you stop. Period! Most everyone ends up with the shitty end of the stick.
Nick wants to keep seeking the Holy Grail, and I hope he finds it. Like I have always said, I wish we could all make money at this. It just ain't practical.
So, chastise on about what a loser I am, and how it is all sour grapes. Seems to me there are a lot of guys here drinking the same vintage...........

DJV Per your above statement--What if I told you that you had such a place right under your nose where "everyone" who posted plays in forum was documented and "all plays" posted and time stamped.--- and if someone had wagered 1 unit on every play by all particpants of forum they would have been +565 units for entire year(2003)

DTB just seeing if everyone was awake. I know about the golf forum believe me. It's the saviest place we have here. And if you notice not to many of the idiots show up there. WE have had some nice runs in motor sports to. And again not many bother. That's the beauty of it.
