Are you currently living in the dallas area? Could have sworn I remember you mentioning that before.

No, I'm in the Raleigh NC area, but you may well remember me mentioning it. I put the last whining post in Jinxbreaker's post a couple of weeks ago. I've been awaiting surgery for three weeks and now it's going to happen. I had similar surgery in January 2006 that I wrote about here as well. Thanks for remembering. :)

@Jinxbreaker: I'm having the surgery at Duke Raleigh hospital. It's being performed by Dr. Michael Haglund, professor of neurosurgery and neurobiology, and director of the Duke Neurosurgery Training Program.

@My Favorite Weasel: I haven't had my hands on a veteran since I worked at the Naval Clinic at Quantico MCB in 2006. The rest of the time I've been helping people with HIV, helping patients in their home after hospital discharge and dying folks in hospice. I think the VA may have been confusing but that's because I'm originally from Virginia, not because I fix vets. Thanks for the kudos, though!

Thank you all for your prayers and wishes! I really appreciate all of your support and kind words! I'll let you all know when I come out on the other side!

I am home and the doc said the surgery was successful. Right now I'm feeling like I was struck by a truck. Oxy and Flexaril are my current best friends. I'm hating my "hard collar" but I only have to put up with it for a week, then get to go into a soft one for another week. Prelimary x-rays show everything in the right places.

Thanks to all of you, even Theismann :) , for the good wishes!
