For what it is worth, here are some of my thoughts.

#1 Like Now (12-1) - I like the trainer, Mclaughlin's horses usually give a good effort. Big Jockey change. Might surprise, he beat a couple of good ones in the gotham.

#2 Platinum Couple (50-1) - I just can't make a case for this one.

#3 Hemmingway's Key (30-1) - Zito's horses are always dangerous. His young colts can jump up and improve by leaps and bounds...for me, I have to include in my exotics.

#4 Greeley's Legacy (20-1) - Big Question mark for me. The 5/14 workout bullet best of 63 is encouraging...another unknown for me.

#5 Brother Derek (3-1) - Obvious Contender...Revenge on his mind.

#6 Barbaro (1-1) - He is Barbaro...Obvious Contender.

#7 Sweetnorthernsaint (4-1) - Obvious contender. Kent D. knows the track, won a few riding titles here before going out west.

#8 Bernardini (8-1) - Beyers going in right direction, another one for my exotics.

#9 Diabolical (30-1) - Another Question Mark, maybe bottom of exotics.

I will probably play a 5 horse tri box, with the three obvious contenders and add probably #1 Like Now and #3 Hemmingway's Key. $60

Another tri with #1 Like Now, #3 Hemmingway's Key, #8 Bernardini, #5 Brother Derek. $24

Tri Bets $84.00

Another $16 in various exacta combinations for a total bet of $100.

Whatever you play...good luck players...:)

$20 straight tri 7-6-5
I love Roth Ticket in the first. Hopefully I'll get better than 4-1 ml.
I've capped the first 6 but that's the only one I really like.
I'm going to play a 9-9 early double.
Good luck guys!

Don't get me wrong, I think Barbaro will be hard to beat. I just think that with all the talk about Brother D, they may forget about SNS. If he gets first run at Like Now and Diabolical, he may not look back. Plus Desormeaux may push the other "big 2" down to the rail and into traffic. Who the hell knows? I'll be trying to make my money early. Do you have any picks for the undercard? GL.

Dont throw out Diabolical........he is very playable in the place and show. This will be another glorified workout for Barbaro, the Belmont will be the true test.

More food for thought... Altough it was against much weaker comp, Bernardini has ran the fastest mile out of this bunch. Barbaro equalled it but that was on grass.

After staring at the form all night I convinced myself that Like Now will hit the board. I may just be trying to talk myself into a price. I played that straight ticket but backed it up with Like Now in every hole.

I am very new to horse betting. Quick question for some of the more experienced bettors out there. I plaed an exacta wager on the two faves, with Barbaro winning and Brother Derek finishing second. It was a $20 wager. How do you figure the payout? Thanks for any help for a newbie.

It will probably pay between 8-12, depending on the final odds and how much is in the pool. If it comes in, multiply whatever it pays by 10 and that's what you get.

IT's a sickening feeling to see potentially one of the great horse get hurt. Bernardini looked good beating tired horse but it is meaningless next to what happened. See you in 3 weeks. The Belmont will be stacked.
