I like the fact that Asmussen has a live horse in here owned by Jackson that had enough graded stakes money to enter the Derby and chose to wait for this race.

I like the fact that Asmussen and Jackson have already won this race twice with Curlin and Rachel Alexendra.

I belive Smith will give this horse the ride of his life in hounor of Jacksons passing last month.

And what's putting me over the top on this, is the fact that a longtime horse player and friend of mine from the local OTB (hell of a cap) Told me this horse would contend in the Derby months prior. There is no doubt this would be his clear cut favorite in this race and singled in some pick 3's for sure. Ronnie passed just days ago before they announced the field for this years Preakness Stakes. Sudden heart attack that nobody saw coming. He was 60.

Yes, the post is a concern. That being said, this is a weak field in my opinion and Smith should be able to find a spot close to the pace. I also like Mucho today. Gomez has a good shot as well.

yeah. just wish he could have held on to 2nd. Would have hit the Tri, Per and Super. Jockey gave him a great run. Got checked once heading into the final turn and that cost him. Gets real tight inside on that final turn.
