hope everybody has had a great off-season...am estatic that football has arrived !!

will put all of my preseason plays in this thread...

8/14 minn.+3(125)....

grabbed this at 2.5 & bought up to 3...saw that the hilton has the line at -1...

have to think that sage & jackson are pretty pissed that the vikes are after favre to be their qb for the upcoming season...so think each will try to impress the coaching staff that he is the man...& booty, who i have read the coaches are very high on, is their other qb....

i know indy has a new head coach but think he will continue the trend that the colts have gone with for years...nice & easy during the preseason....

good luck.....& am very happy that football is here !!

be careful,my brother...i was just reading up on some nordic history and it`s an undisputed fact that the vikings stopped raiding other countries in europe because they started painting goal lines on the borders......

just to add a little more info on my minny play...

indy's coaching staff has had a complete over-haul with their top coaches....a new head coach & new offensive & defensive coaches which should cause alignment problems for the players in this their very first game.....

minny is 8-3 su/ats in preseason openers.....while indy is 1-7 ats in their last 8 home games during the preseason...

good luck

New titles, same roles for Colts coaches

August 1st,

Jim Caldwell is planning on more of the same from Tom Moore and Howard Mudd, the former Indianapolis Colts assistant coaches who have returned to the team.

?They will be doing basically the same things they?ve been doing,?? Caldwell said today. ?We?re excited to have them back . . . with their tremendous experience.??

Since 1998, Moore, 70, was the team?s offensive coordinator and Mudd, 67, its offensive line coach. Each retired in May because of concerns with the NFL?s pension program.

Their return comes with new titles. Moore will be senior offensive coordinator and Mudd senior offensive line coach.

The return of the long-time aides and their continued heavy involvement with the offense is critical. Moore and Mudd have worked in tandem with quarterback Peyton Manning since the team selected him with the first overall pick in the 1998 draft.

Over that 11-year stretch, the Colts offense ranks No. 1 in the league in points scored, total offense, passing offense and third-down conversions. Manning has won three NFL MVP awards.

So Cal
I think JD.Booty can win that job. In college he had "lock target" never really saw all the field because he would lock on to a target and force
A lot of balls . With a year to learn the offense I think he is just as good as the other 2 QB's. I would like to see what he can do. IMO he can be what B.Rothlisberger did his 1st season... Just manage the game.. Although BigBen did not have a weapon like Peterson and or Harvin.

.

Best Of Luck this season AR

play #2....

8/15 seattle + 4(115).....

line opened at 4 & is now down to 3.5..bought the 1/2 point to get it back to 4....

game 1 of the nflx season is a game where coaches usually let their teams get re-acclimated to football contact & primarily use vanilla schemes...so will gladly take the team that is coming off of a disappointing season & entering the season with a new coach & a new attitude....also read that sd is 2-6 in the last 8 game ones of the preseason...

don't know if this system applies to seattle...

play on the dog in any game involving a virgin nfl head coach in his 1st preseason game.....since 1996 the ats record of this system is......30-14-1...68.2%.....

good luck

play #3...

in the hall of fame game i like the dog but because tenn has a better qb rotation i feel more comfortable getting over a td for the game...

with this being the first of 5 preseason games for each team & because they will play each other again during the regular season i look for both teams to basically play a vanilla type of game & not show each other what they have...

so for this game i am going with a teaser....

buff+10
under 38.5

here is a trend that i picked up while surfing the net...

13 win teams are 3-12 ats in last 15 as preseason faves.....while 7 wins teams are 14-2-1 ats last 17 as preseason dogs....

also the bills are 5-0 ats in week 1 of the preseason over the past five years.....& for the past 3 preseasons buff is 7-0 when they take the field as a dog.....

good luck...

tenn. took a safety from their own 40 yard line to end the game & it cost me the teaser play....hopefully this bad beat will be the only one this year......yeah right...lol.

in case anybody thinks that tenn. & buffalo have advantages because they played a game already.....think again...i just read from a well respected capper on another site that.....teams that played a game already against a team playing their first game are 15-17-4 ats in the 2000's....

good luck

Hey Al, every year that passes, the preseason becomes more and more like the regular season as far as pointspread outcomes.
Feel it's time to tread lightly making plays anymore.
What I mean is making less plays than i'm used to.
Good luck this year buddie.

I like Sage, though I'm not fond of parsley, rosemary or thyme.

OK, that was uncalled for. Sorry.

Seriously though, I do like Sage, which seems to put me in a minority. Get the guy to stop tossing INT's and he's workable. When I had over $ on Tex and Schaub went down I was OK with it. Sage makes things happen. I'd like to see him get a chance to start this season.

The coaching change in Indy is minimal, Tony's gone, but many of the same components are still there, as is the philosophy.
But remember - books know that too . . .

Booty has no chance of being the #1 or 2 guy. I hope Sage wins but Booty needs another year or two from what I am hearing. He does not grasp the offense very well and can not handle the entire playbook yet.

minny is 8-3 su/ats in preseason openers.....while indy is 1-7 ats in their last 8 home games during the preseason...

Note: Brad Childress the current Vikes coach is 0-3ATS in preseason openers, i.e. he has NOT covered an opener since becoming the Vikes head coach.

thanks hooks..right back at you....& you should like this because for today i am playing your skins....

play #4...

wash.+3 (115)....

after winning his very 1st game with balt., harbaugh went 0-3 for the remainder of last years nflx & then took his team to 1 win away from the super bowl.....last year wash. coach zorn started his coaching career by going 3-2 during the preseason but turned in a mediocre record for the regular season & there were some people wondering if zorn was in over his head.......so imo wash. will take this game more seriously than the ravens....

here is a recent quote from harbaugh about today's game.....

?it's an extension of training camp," baltimore coach john harbaugh said. "it's an opportunity to keep growing as a football team and growing as individual players. we're not game-planning for the redskins.?

the following is a tip i picked up on how to bet during the nflx....

play on a team with experienced back-up qbs that have prior experience with the team and will see significant playing time, such as the 2nd half of a game.....

because of their familiarity with the offensive scheme and speed of nfl defenders, these veteran qbs are much less likely to make critical mistakes....

wash. has the edge here with veterans collins & brennan (2nd year) who are battling for the # 2 spot behind campbell...while balt. will finish the game with smith (2nd year), beck (was with miami last year) in his ravens debut & willy, a rookie from the university of buffalo......

also in week 1 of the preseason dogs are 100-71.....58% since 1997......

i'll take the team who is disappointed with last year's record over the team that surprised everybody & now feel good about themselves...

good luck....

don`t tell jack, but i agree...mason may miss and clayton`s definitely out...and demetrius williams is hobbled...they basically have garbage at receiver(and that`s WITH the starters in)....

really like colt brennan finishing..he looked great in the preseason last year,so coming from behind,if necessary,is a real possibilty..

wth,it`s only preseason...

g.l.,pard...
