bit of a homer play. why a homer play when i don't live near oakland. that's because we don't have a football team. but growing up when the team was down south i lived silver and black.
on to the game. raiders can put up points and norv is gonna air it out all season long. collins has always had a strong arm, just never a chance to use it. he's gonna throw his share of picks this season, but he's also gonna have moss, gabriel, and porter the fastest trio of receivers get by people. if the patriots somehow play consistent man defense tonight and don't show any zone schemes raiders have a shot to win, but that's probably not gonna happen. patriots need a lot of work with their linebacking crew as both coming from speed first defenses to now a "grunt" defense. there is such a thing as a superbowl hangover and the patriots shouldn't have had superbowl number one 4 years ago or whatever because rule or no rule THAT BALL WAS NOT AN INCOMPLETE PASS PERIOD. if your from new england you are blind as a bat if you think it was or a true homer. to be honest, if i wasn't getting the hook, i think i'd lay a little less or maybe lay off, but i just think too many things can go wrong or maybe the better wording is not as smooth for n.e. to open the season tonight. 7 and the hook is a hefty number to cover against a team with the speed and deep ball capability of the raiders as they work on new personal getting situated to the defense.
