Look hard at Illinois over

a comment that made Illinois coach Bruce Weber's tired eyes brighten, the Knights have promised to stick with their up-tempo game when they try to break the 0-80 exercise in futility of 16th seeds.

"We're hoping we can get running again,'' said Weber, who had another short night Sunday while dealing with a plethora of media interviews, the bus ride back from Chicago and looking at tape of the Knights.

FDU, which uses a three-guard lineup plus 7-foot sophomore center Andrea Crosariol and 6-9 forward Gordon Klaiber, averages 74.3 points. It finished second to Monmouth in the Northeast Conference but won the conference tournament by beating Wagner, which had upset Monmouth.

"Their guards are pretty good athletes, they have the big guy inside and the forward, Klaiber, is an in-between, kind of like Roger Powell,'' Weber said. "So I'd say our matchups are pretty good.''

The Knights' coach does not disagree.

"I put Illinois down No. 1 [Sunday], which I've been doing all year long,'' said Green, who votes in the coaches poll.

The way he sees it, though, Fairleigh Dickinson has a few things going for it.

"One thing about this game is, we have no pressure on us, so we're going to be very loose,'' Green said.
