New Jersey at BUFFALO *
*Game is being played in Rochester, NY, so it's not on SABRES home ice per se. However, I like NJ on the road here as they have been dominant so far this year, posting a 4-0-1 record and I think it continues tonite. DEVILS played an emotional game on SAT, defeating OTTAWA 1-0 in OTT. That was huge for them, but I don't look for a letdown here. DEVILS still trail the FLYERS by three pts for the division, so with the few days off, I think we'll see another great effort in ROCHESTER tonite! A side note... BUFF SATAN may be a bit distracted by trade talks... local radio here says the KINGS and DUCKS are both talking trade with BUFF, so SATAN MAY BE COMING TO DISNEYLAND!! Dang, what's MICKEY gonna think about that one. GO DEVILS!
Pittsburgh at NY RANGERS
NYR are struggling all of a sudden, they have the worst PP in the NHL and what better team to up those numbers on than the NO DEE PENGUINS. PITT has given up 19 goals in their last 3 games and with the RANGERS needing to work on their offense, I think you'll see some scoring tonite. PITT should be able to get at least 2 goals on offense themselves, so I'm just looking for 4 out of NY which shouldn't be too hard. Not touching the game, but if I had to, I'd probably take the +1.5 with PITT.
Carolina at WASHINGTON
CRAPS continue to struggle on both offense and defense and HURRICANES come in off a nice 2-1-1 homestand that saw them defeat both the Red Hot KINGS and RANGERS, and tie the LIGHTNING. CANES are not that far out of the playoff picture and with a win tonite, they even out their record to 5-5-5, before heading home to play 3 more. CANES have to know they have to beat the weaker teams and build up some pts, because they have a tough stretch of games right around the corner. CANES lead the league in shots per game, and with two struggling goalies for WASH, I don't think it matters who's between the pipes here, CANES win tonite in CAPITAL city!
