Big revenge game from double OT loss in lyr's MAAC semi's.Purples star player Darden blew the game.I remember I posted right after the game I posted about his play.It was almost like he threw the game away on purpose.Biggest game of his career and he has 10 pts 8 TO's.
Already this week that is what everyone is talking about.Darden is a 6'4 gd-fd who is so smooth.He is 2nd in scoring with 18 pts,avg's 6 bds and 3 apg's.And can stick the 3.
Mendez is the 6'7 kid inside who is avg 21 pts a game and 7 bds.Probaly the 3rd best player in the MAAC behind Flores and Clark.In fact these 2 are ranked 5th in the nation in scoring duo.
Cruz the pt gd is really the most improved player.He avg's 6 assits a game and is 6th nationally.Also can stick the 3.Reaves inside is 6'8 and is the workhorse.Brooks has been the biggest surprise banging his jumpers.He is ranked 3rd in the MAAC in 3 pt fg's.
Niagara offense is ranked in top 10 avg 93 pts a game.Of course the reason they have a few losses is there defense gives up a lot of pts.
Manhattan is the "King" of the MAAC.They have won the conf the past few yrs.They play solid defense and have a stud in Flores.
Holmes inside dominates and Bobby G has a lot of role players that understand their role.And thats why they win.
Everything revolves around Flores.They have a zone buster in Kono-v.Mulligan is a big gd-fd that can score.Benton inside is a presence.But their pt gds are avg.Wingate is up and down.Minor has not got the playing time this yr.Many times Bobby G is forced to put Flores at the pt.Holy Cross a few weeks ago and Penn both overplayed everyone else and made Flores dribble.
Jaspers lost to Penn by 2 and Holy Cross led for 38 minuts only to lose by 4.

In MAAC stats even though they include all non-league games Niagara is No.1 or 2 in scoring off,FT %,Rebounding Off,REB margin,APG's,3 pt made,Off bds. There last in defending the 3 pt and almost last in FG% defense.

But forget all the hoopla.I like Niagara because I think they can control the bds.Cruz will be able to attack MC's defense.If they sag and help on Mendez,Mihalich rolls Brooks and Darden over to that side for a 3 pt shot.Holmes inside has 2 guys to deal with,Reaves and Mendez.That causes matchup problems.Booby G doesn't like to put Benton and Holmes in together unless its necessary.
Of course Flores has to be marked.He will have an array of players including 6'4 Darden hawking him.And Darden I think will have a big game.
