Quarterback Derek Carr made it through practice Friday without any setbacks in his recovery from left knee and ankle sprains. As a result, Raiders coach Tony Sparano said Carr is on track to start against the San Diego Chargers.
?As long as there?s no setback when we get here (Saturday), any of those type of things,? Sparano said Friday. ?We?re taking this one day at a time with the thing. But if we get here (Saturday) and all is good, we should be good.?
Carr suffered his injuries against the Miami Dolphins in the Raiders 38-14 loss in a game played in London on Sept. 28.
The injury was severe enough that then-coach Dennis Allen removed Carr from the game in the second half and inserted Matt McGloin into the game for the remainder.
Carr has benefited from the fact the Raiders had their bye last Sunday and he has had the better part of two weeks to recover.
?I?ll be good,? Carr said, when asked in the locker room Friday about his sense for whether he will start Sunday.
Carr has started all four of Oakland?s regular-season games so far after he earned the job over Matt Schaub and Matt McGloin during training camp and Oakland?s four exhibition games.
Sparano refused to divulge whether Schaub or McGloin will be Carr?s primary backup. McGloin played against the Dolphins because Schaub was at home with his wife and baby.
