unless cleve. wants green to be a mentor to frye or somebody they draft, i don't understand this move....cleve.'s offensive line has been very shaky for the past few years & green will be a sitting target & will never last the full season...

The Browns are apparently ready to step up their pursuit of Chiefs quarterback Trent Green. Browns General Manager Phil Savage told WTAM AM/1100 on Thursday morning that the next step is to negotiate a "ballpark contract" for Green that would prompt him to want to come to Cleveland for a visit. Green's agent, Jim Steiner, declined to comment Thursday night on possible negotiations - but also didn't deny that they've begun.

i really think this is a very good move for both parties....i don't think carr is a bad qb at all & i think with the proper coaching he can be very good to eventually take over for jake when the time comes...

Quarterback David Carr, the first overall pick in the 2002 draft, agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Carolina Panthers early Friday morning, according to a league source. Carr, 27, made the decision after returning from a two-day visit with the Seattle Seahawks and meeting with his wife at their California home late Thursday night. Carr had visited with the Panthers Monday and Tuesday. The financial terms of the deal weren?t immediately available. The Panthers obviously don?t view Carr as the typical backup. Coach John Fox has said several times that Jake Delhomme, who struggled at times last season, remains the starter. But Carr, who has made 75 career starts, could provide a viable alternative if Delhomme struggles again
