Still trying to cleanse myself from last week. The more I think about the Perry play the more it stings, would rather lose by 1 shot..
Obviously Charlotte has taken a hit with all of the banks going belly up.. that being said these next 2 weeks will be the best fields of the year (non majors and WGC). Tiger won here in 07, sat out last year and then Kim broke on the scene and won. Excellent golf course. Can't wait.. lets find some winners :toast:

Hey DT,

I wanted to get your input on Hunter Mahan this week. He has played exceptionally well this season and looks to be a good investment at +3500.

Thoughts on this wager or should I put this hundred on a different player all together?

Thanks as always.

This is a good course for Mahan his game seems to be rounding into form. I dont know if hes ready to win a big tourney like this though. 35 to 1 is mighty small when you look at some of the names in the field.. If it was 35/1 minus ogilvy woods and mick then maybe

As I did at Bay Hill (and it worked), I am conceding the Tourney to you know who, and making Place and Show bets only.
Since I am betting no win tickets, my Place action will be 2 units, and my Show tickets will remain at the usual one unit.

Hunter Mahan 15-1 Place, 7 1/2-1 Show

Nick Watney 20-1 Place, 10-1 Show

Boo Weekley 30-1 Place, 15-1 Show

Ian Poulter 30-1 Place, 15-1 Show

Good luck to all....should be a great tourney to watch!

Sabbatini to win 41.00

The last time Rory got hot like he is now, he won. Also, he tends to play better against stronger fields. I'm overlooking the fact that he hasn't exactly lit the Wachovia up, ever.

72 holes

O'Hair over Goosen -110
Furyk over Garcia -110

O'Hair--young and getting better, Goosen---old and getting worse. Pretty simple reasoning here.

This is not a bet against Garcia, although if pressed, I think I could. This is a bet for Furyk, who plays this layout superbly and is warming up nicely.

Outrights to Win Whole Tournament (Thursday - Sunday) :

1/3 Unit : Robert Karlsson to Win @ 50 : 1.

FIGURES. All five of my selections are at least tied for ninth place or better but I finally grab some nice outrights on a tourney that Tiger has already jump started. I need to start covering the tournaments Tiger is in with top fives.

Round 1 plays (1pt):

Steve Flesch to beat Todd Hamilton -115 @ Five Dimes
Hamilton has had a couple of good events in the past month, but with just one sub-par round in the last four years at Quail Hollow, it appears unlikely that this will be another good event for him. Flesch does miss a lot of cuts (as well as recording two top-10 finishes in his last four starts), but he has made the cut in each of the last five years here, so should be the favourite in this matchup.

Camilo Villegas to beat Chad Campbell -138 @ William Hill
Campbell missed the cut here in 2006 and 2007 and then skipped this event last year. He may have finished 2nd in The Masters, but this is a very different event and with the rough shorter than last year, it should suit Villegas even more.

K.J. Choi to beat J.B. Holmes -150 @ Paddy Power
With evidence of Choi's game turning around last week (he finished 24th, but was also 14th in greens in regulation), I'll certainly back him against a player like Holmes. Even with his recent slump in form, he had only finished behind Holmes once this year ... over the last 10 months, Holmes has finished ahead of Choi in only two tournaments.
