If you placed a tennis wager and your player retired in the 3rd set. It was tied 1-1 set wise.

And the rules stated: Two full sets must be completed without either player retiring or being disqualified for wagers to stand"

Would you get your money back?

I keep reading the rules as...2 sets must be completed and neither player can retire or be disqualified in the game...NOT within the first 2 sets neither player can retire or be disqualified but after that anything can happen.

If it's a woman's match, in the 3rd set, you'd lose the wager if your player retired. Not much of a tennis gambler but have dabbled in it and this has been my experience.

I interpret it kind of along the lines of a rain delay in baseball.

wager doesn't count if its called before 5 innings (2 sets). wager stands if its after 5 innings (3rd set)
or something like that

If the player you bet on retired in set one....you would have got your money back.

If the player you bet on retired in the 2nd set...you would have got your money back.

BUT

The player you bet on retired in the 3rd set.....you lose the bet.

In other words, once two sets are played the match "has action".

Sorry you lost, but I have been betting tennis for many years, sometimes you win like this, sometimes ya lose like this. Although, best to play at books that state "match must be completed for bet to stand". Then you don't have to worry about a player retiring.

Also, I am pretty sure you are talking about the Camille Pin/Urszula Radwanska match:shrug:
