Question About Shrinkage........

When cooking full strips of bacon there seems to be a lot of shrinkage yet when I cut the pack of bacon in half there's hardly any shrinkage.....Thoughts....:shrug:

I'm serious, never tried it. Love Tofu bacon, it's delicious. So I guess that's what real bacon taste like.
