I've only been doing my own homework when it comes to totals. Basically, my question to the forum is what do you read into them?

Say for example, tonights Pittsburgh vs WVU game. The game total is 137(BETJAM). However, the 1H total is relatively low @ 64. Typically I understand that 2H totals can be higher in conference or close games because of late fouling, however, this isn't ALWAYS the case. Also, not always are 1H totals lower than 1/2 the game total. Often I do see some totals in the 1H higher than 1/2 the game total...

Anyways, do you read much into it? I've made 4 game total plays this year(UNDERS), posting a 3-1 record. Only loss was last night BC vs WF. Typically, the play I make is first off, I find a game total that I like and if the 1H total is lower than 1/2 the game total, I'll play UNDER for the game.

Basically, I'm always trying to get better at this and love to hear what others think and analyze when doing games.

Thoughts? Thanks!

I believe the last outing saw both halves over 70 in the Pitt/WVU game.

As for totals, I'm not some who could answer those questions but wanted to drop in your thread and SAY HELLO CHIEF!!! :00hour

i believe the fist half total is usually 7 to nine points less the game total divided by two,

for example the pitt-wvu game is 137, the first half total is 64.5. (137-8) / 2

this is different than the nba, but the second half total is larger because the fouling at the end of a game.

College basketball plays much more aggressive defense than the NBA does. It would stand to reason that as the legs get tired, the chances for easier buckets get higher. There will also be more fouling equalling more free throws. There will also be more intentional fouls late in the game as teams try to catch up. Lastly, especially with two good teams, there is always the overtime factor.

I've been scoring alot on 2nd half overs. I look at the first half stats, compare it to the2nd lines and in the right instances have done very well. The books get somewhat strapped with their number, as they don't want to leave too much opportunity for "middles".

Hope this helps. Good luck

Read an article that said over the past 4 days the Over has hit 17 of 27 times in the NBA (63%). It went on to say the month of Jan has more games with increased travel that begins to wear on players. Lack of defense usually results with more points scored. It said this is a common trend weeks before All Star break. Question for veteran O/U betters, Is this something that you have used to your advantage in the past, or is it not an issue as the books just adjust to it? thanks
