Question for Anyone

I recently read about bookies in the 50's running what was called a 6 hit bet. You simply had to pick any 3 hitters before the start of the days games and if they got 6 hits or more combined you won if not you had to pay what you risked.
If Anyone has any information on this let me know. I would love top know more.
