She just looked over the Amy Reid thread where I said I would openly cheat on her....she told me if I get to bang her than she gets a new car...:shrug:
No wonder you married her. Kinda nice of her to let you have that. She is a bit pricey tho. Couldn't she settle for a mountain bike or something? For that nasty broad a car is way over priced. Maybe a hamburger or something.
Good luck Kelly. Sounds like your doing the right thing so far. I don't believe in the "rock bottom" theory - and anyway, sounds like she had worse episodes 7 years ago. She knows how to stay sober, maybe some AA meetingsfor a while are in order once she gets done with this episode. Job is secondary.
Hope you never have to go thru this smurph cause i bet you would change your mind. I tried everything. Rock bottom most times is the only answer for some of these type people. Just go ask one of them they will tell ya. It is an absolutely brutal position to be put in and i was the silly enabler. Never ever again.
I'm guessing that her rock bottom was 7-8 years ago. Just a guess. She knows she's an alcoholic and has apparently been on the right track. This sounds like a slip-up.
'Rock bottom' is an excuse to let yourself fall completely apart....and doesn't really make sense. It's kinda like how you "find something the last place you look". Yeah - you are at a low point before you turn things around, but whose to say how low that point has to be?

I am in the Dallas Metroplex area, and understanding how much you like me already, I thought I would offer my services if you, or your incredibly drunk, hot, passed out friend may need them. I am not a dependency counselor but I know where a Holiday Inn Express is and maybe that will be enough. Please send a picture of her breasts so I can establish a mental picture of her. This can only help, I assure you, the better I get to know her the more help I can be. Maybe a picture of both your breasts will work better. Heck, it can't hurt right? Maybe something in a hayloft setting?........ hey I can't explain all this holistic stuff..............its science you know, but if it works than kudos to us.

Anyway, your friend will eventually pass out at which point she won't sleep as long as you might think. I would make a serious attempt to be there when she awoke and hit her with the story of the last few days then. Should shock her into submission.........................................see if you can get a few shots of that too please.

Update...
Update...
I got there after work, 3/4 of another huge bottle of wine gone. i sat and watched TV with her for a couple of hours, brought her dinner. Put her into bed at 9:00 and stayed the night (her dad asked me to, plus she lives only 1 mile away). She got up several times, but only had gatorade and water to drink (as I threw out the remainder of the bottle). She set her alarm and got up and got ready for work. Her first words were " i can never have another drink again, not even one or two", to which i said, "no shit". I went home, got ready for work and called her on her cell phone. She made it in and is now in her boss' office. I have no doubt this will be the last episode, at least for a long while.
Smurph's right - she knows she can't have any more and I believe she now realizes even she can't have one or two. Over the years, she has had one or two with me and was always fine.
I did ask her about maybe going to AA meetings again and she said for her that shit doesn't work. She throws her energy into working out and hiking, etc...and otherwise living a very clean and disciplined life.

Very nicely done, the best way to deal with me is to ignore me..I will eventually get bored and go away.........at least thats what I've been told. I hope your friend gets her inner demons worked out. It is extremely difficult to get people to understand that their decisions in life are not always right or whats best for them. She is lucky to have a friend to help her in her time of need.
Thats pretty much about as nice as I get......(not true, I am actually a very nice person, but who would believe that) so drink it in sister.

I think that would be illegal in any state but Massachusetts (??). My co-worker asked her if she got the license plate number of the truck that ran her over. Damn....she looked rough, but she made it in, that's the important thing.

She has another date with her new man who is a wine connoisseur...so we'll find out this weekend if she abstains. I hope for her sake she does.

If her boyfriend is a wine connoisseur he would be well served to leave the wine at home, unless of course he is unaware of the binge episode, in which case she is setting herself up for a very unhealthy relationship.
