I may be the only one who believes there is serious point shaving/gambling going on in the NFL. I'll be on the sidelines and watch the superstar cappers here tear em up the rest of the way. I would like for one of the sharps here to tell me why they change the start times for the late afternoon games. Im 50 years old and for the longest they kicked at 3 central. A couple years ago they changed some to 3:15. This year they are moving some to 3:25 on the "official rotation". Tomorrow there are 2 late games. They moved them to 3:25. One being played in the east and one in the west. Why ???
It couldnt be that most all the early action is settled and gives everyone time to play/chase the late games does it ? I mean its just another game to Vegas, right Thunder ???? Is it because they dont want any of the players to get hurt on the opening kickoffs on the late games while we are still watching the early games Jord ??? I wish some of you smart guys would give me some insight ?

I am not one of the so called " Brilliant" ones, but I can guarantee it all has to do with viewer coverage, networks allowing us all not to miss games that may go into extra time or whatever reason :0008

we all like to see the beginning and end of a game :toast:

Dude you lost a game, move on. If you feel Vegas is this plugged in then I suggest just playing every team that Vegas needs to win and you are sure to rake in the money right? For the record I am not brilliant or even above average when it comes to betting football:toast:

Sometimes it is what it is.

The move is a reaction to the early games ending late and the cities with "home teams" would have to leave the end of the early game broadcast to be able to see the kickoff of their local team.

Just as with the addition of the every week Thursdy night game, (which I do not like) this is a boon for the bookies as you are right...more time to chase the early losers just as that Thursday night game, regardless of the match-up, gets way out of porpotion action.

Your post implies collusion. I don't see that. Sometimes changes that are good for the viewing public are also good for others...like Vegas. I'll wait for the opinion of the "superstar" cappers too.

As far as time of games go, the NFL has become a passing league since the days of yonder that you are talking about. Equals longer games. Having said that, I have no doubt that gambling has an impact as well.

I didnt lose the game you are referring to ??? No where did I post I made a play on San Fran on Monday. Which was the point . I was watching the game without a monetary interest. So I dont know why people act like my opinion is based on a gambling loss on my part. I said it was about the integrity of the game. Thats my opinion.

For what it's worth it's most likely stats show fans warch the beginning of games more than the end, especially casual fans and non gamblers, so the NFL wants people to see the start. Same theory with EAST Coast getting to watch only first half on work nights or first 5-6 innings of Baseball Play-Off and World Series games. :0008
The league and advertisers don't care

1) 8 early games and 2 late games tomorrow because fox was supposed to be showing game 6 of the nlcs at 1:30 pst.....since the alcs ended that start time moved back to 4:30 pst

2) they moved the kick of the late/late games back 10 mins because the networks/nfl were getting frustrated calls from fans who were being switched to late games when the early games werent' finished....blame this on the length of games by about 10 mins over the past few years

3) does it make it more convenient for gambling....absolutely

4) is the nfl a bunch of hyprocrites when it comes to gambling.....absolutely

5) did harbaugh do the right thing thursday.....absolutely.

anything else?

Yeah you guys are right... Networks say fuck the people that want to watch 60 minutes or any other regular schedule program......Just push everything back so a select few people can watch the start of an NFL game. LOL

Many years they take the late games off Fox because of the ALCS and NLCS scheduling. But that answer is hilarious because Michael doesn't remember it.

Yes, Harbaugh did the right thing on Thursday. Yes, there is a free kick after a safety, and you can elect to try an onside kick.

Someone is 0 fer 3.

Im o-3 ?

They took late games off so you can bet on another game/sport ???

Harbaugh did right thing ? Depends on who you ask. If he takes the safety he wins game. no doubt.

Yes you can onside a "punt" or have someone "hold" the ball on a free kick after a safety. But you can't do a traditional on side kick.

I say your 0-3

its a double trick question

most would say... there are no straight waiters in sf....and while that may be true, the correct answer is:

there are no light bulbs in sf because they're trying to save the planet be eliminating light bulbs and moving to candles!
