One offshore got hit hard with PHILLY money for sure moved off of 7 to 6.5 while everyone else held 7 and a couple 7 -115's. That's off of a key number.

Got my attention. Hopeing for a 6, 7, or 8 point final here.

MJB,

There is no rhino technique. I just wanted to get the response "Rhino Technique?"

The line watchers speak a different language to me, too. The book that their referring to is Pinnacle which is said to be sharp book. Then, I think, IE said that Grande, another book (???) follows their line movements or got hit with alot of cash or quality players on Philly but all of it was after the Asian market (I have no idea) got hit first.

The reason that the quality cappers in this thread are not responding is probably (and this is my opinion) because line watching isn't an exact science and alot of the analysis goes on feel and experience. Every so often, they'll get in a good debate about it when things are slow (read:baseball season), so if you do a search of old threads, you could probably learn alot.

I am sure IE will respond once he gets done scouting Chaminade's backup forwards. :)

Of course, everything I said could be wrong.

BBC,thanks for help, really appreciate it....was just finishing up checking out bestbettor for backup functions since we are in the middle of implamenting many super upgrades over the next few days and i left the thread hanging...and i must say i was in a rush when i did make the initial post.

MJB, just like Mr BBC said and Antonio eluded to initially.....line movement watching essentially, in not so much the particular offshores but what certain standards they have maintained over the years in regards to certain groups around the world which will take action on their plays.

will sometime later will expand on this but at the moment trying to figure out why a "VCU" abbrevation and a "VirCom" abbrevation in college basketball are ruining my life tonight in regards to not having a bottle of 93' vino with a fine lady.

sorry to even make this carry on, but basically there was some heavy money in certains areas of the globe that bet philly heavy and they have a certain reputation....not that this is anything to sway a handicapper off the number which he is looking for when he has properly capped a game...but it was noted.

good luck this week with your bets and bring home some winners.

BBC, those darn backups must have rich siblings .......

cause,it is not a cheap higher learning establishment to attend by no means from my neck of the world.....

wow!

CHAMINADE UNIVERSITY AT A GLANCE

COSTS

Tuition (2002 ? 2003): $12,950
Room and Board (double occupancy): $ 6,150
Books: $ 700
TOTAL: $19,800

also little late but always worth noting for the future in the press note....if the coach is putting in starch.....handicappers get taken to the cleaners more times than not........

EAS SPORTS MAUI INVITATIONAL CAPSULES

Chaminade

Coach: Aaron Griess (32-22, 2 seasons; 16-11 last season)
Conference: Pacific West
Leading returning scorer: Leon Ballard (13.6 ppg)
Leading returning rebounder: Mike Donegan (6.1 rpg)
Fun fact: Low-budget Chaminade runs an extremely clean program with Griess still having to do the team's laundry. Griess, 31, is the youngest coach in the Pacific West Conference.

Great stuff, as this a great thread.

Want to thank IE and MJ for a great site, bestbettor.com

We need to write a book about line watching someday. You guys are missing out if you don't pay attention to line movement. The #1 sharpie is Pinnacle. Thanks Henry!

And no, I don't work for Pinnacle, I just use them to make a living watching their lines.

KC-

Pardon my ignorance ... but I always hear Pinnacle is a sharp book, and I have noticed their lines differ sometimes from the other offshores. But I'm curious how you use their lines to your favor -- you go along with them on the perceived "house leans" on their opening lines, or with the late line moves?

You're a helluva a handicapper and I know you don;t use this strictly for your plays, or even close, but just curious how you use Pinnacle's lines to your advantage. Same question goes for IE and Antonio.

Jeff,

Feel Pinnacle is the leader in setting lines off shore. You can definately use them to your advantage.

Tony and IE were alluding to the quick drop tonight on that Philly line. A lot of sharp money went on Philly, else they would not have moved it that quickly.

There are many occasions where Pinnacle never moves there lines, no matter how many squares are moving lines elsewhere. You need to always watch them or your missing out as another handicapping tool.

So, are you saying the players moving the lines at Pinnacle are sharp - and thus, what you are following (i.e., pounding the Philly line down)? Or are you valuing the positions the book is taking on games where its line differ from other books?

Thanks for the insight.

Jeff,

Very complicated subject, but I respect that book more than any. Guess I feel they are quicker than most to move on sharp money and stand there ground on squares.

Spend some time watching live line movements. Seen Pinnacle almost ever night juiced against the squares and they win a majority of them.
