if theres anyone on this site who doesnt sit around drinking beer and watching sports all day and night (like me) maybe you can help...

i work out 3 to 4 times a week.. usually 30minutes of cardio followed by about an hour of weight training.. i also try to eat right.. no im not perfect.. but i dont keep unhealthy food in the house.. usually i only eat bad when i stop and get fast food from time to time.. but not very often.. im in pretty good shape.. with decent muscle tone.. however i cant seem to loose the flat tire!

i do have a vice, it is my drinking..

now that im single again.. my friends take me out almost nightly..
dance clubs, bars, and if we dont go out.. ive got a nice bachelor pad that people like to hang out at.. people just show up and start drinking.. also this girl im seeing loves to party..

( bye the way i bought the cannon g3 digital camera and have some good party pics, ill post as soon as i can.)

my question is..

can you loose the flat tire by eating right, exercise... and drinking beer?

or am i going to have to settle down a bit?

thanks!

Switch to bourbon and water. This will cut down on the caloric and carbohydrate intake. It will also get you drunk quicker!

2 things!

1st. Watch how much you cut loose! Doing this "Cutting Loose" when I lost my nag landed me in Rehab 2 1/2 years later!

2nd. I too work out 5-6 times a week with about the same regimen. I can't loose the tire either! I have been hitting it hard for 7 months and am starting to lose my tire but it is the hardest thing to do! I don't drink and I still can not totally lose the flab! So to answer your question...............Hell I don't know!

Gibber, read my posts in this thread. If you are interested, get my email from Jack. This is no joke and has a 100% money back guarantee. I went from 215 to 192 in three months and have been holding steady since. I to was working out and getting no where until I started taking this stuff. Completely safe, no side effects, and no ephidrine. Cost can be as little 66 cents per day depending on how much you get.

thegibber1,

i was once told by a nurse that a high intake of carbs cause the weight around the stomach. so you have to cut out the carbs, which is high on carbs. you should do what i have done & drink rye or rum with diet soda.

To lose weight its a simple formula

Calories in vs Calories out..............

Heres what I did..........Keep track of the caloric intake of everything you consume for about 2 weeks.......I dont care if its beer, crackers, cookies anything.....after each day total up your calories.....This did 2 things for me

It showed me really how many calories I was sticking in my mouth each day(You would be shocked to see how people, including myself, think that they just consumed 300 calories when the truth of the matter is... you just consumed 800 calories)

It showed me how to develop better eating habits.......You can buy a calorie counter at any Health food store or grocery store. I even bought a scale so I could weigh my portions. Just find the amount of calories you can eat and still lose like 1 to 3 lbs a week.
I lost about 30 lbs in 6 months doing this as well as doing cardio in the mornings and lifting weights about 4 times a week.

If you are working out as you say you are.....You should be dropping bodyfat unless you just are consuming to many calories. I would definitely drink lite beer or a mixed drink that has less calories. But I will tell you I found it very hard to drop bodyfat when I was drinking 4 times a week. The idea is to use more calories everyweek than you consume. Good luck and it is a very good idea to limit the carbs.......they along with excess calories are the enemy. I find if I drink protein shakes then I tend to not eat as much because I am not as hungry during the day.

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
Gibber,
Go out and buy Dr. Atkins "The New Diet Revolution"
All the naysayers tell you that you will die from all the fat you will eat, but they dont tell you the whole story......

My Story:
Dropped 30 lbs. in 4-1/2 months, my cholesterol level went from 271 to 213(still too high), and my energy level went through the roof.
I was in the exact same situation as you....

:) Good luck, its worked for me!!

spare tires rock! :Yep: :Yep: Who else will give that a HELL YEAH!! :D

In all seriousness, if you are working out, u do probably have a six pack, it's just covered with some extra fat. Hit the crunches and other abdominal exercises hard and don't expect results in 1 week.

sit ups and crunches wont do too much to help you lose the fat around your waist. all you do with that is build the muscle in your abs while keeping the fat. sit ups and crunches are fine for peeps who dont have the spare tire, but once you get it, it's the hardest thing to lose. You need to increase your jogging, stairmaster, biking, etc. Counting calories kinda for the birds. You wanna live the rest of your life eating tasteless shit? Probably not. Just don't go overboard. If you get a craving........FEED IT.....just don't overdo it. If you tell yourself no, the craving only gets worse and WHEN you DO give in, it will be worse. MODERATION is the key to everything. Eating 2 cookies at 10 pm wont kill you if you do it once in a while.....like I said, if the craving comes, just eat enough to quench your pallet.

Push yourself a little harder. If you do cardio for 30 minutes, go for 40 minutes. Alot of people don't realize it, but the cardio you do today will actually last you for a couple of days. That's not saying you only need cardio 1-2 times a week. You need it 4-5 for a good work out. All that means is that your cardio workout lasts in your body for more than just the 30 minutes that you ran. Good luck gibber...see you this football season.

I dont remember anyone ever telling they guy he had to count calories for the rest of his life. Counting calories gives a person a good starting point for finding out how many calories they are actually consuming everyday.

Fact........You wont lose bodyfat without creating a caloric deficit.....either by diet or exercise.
