this has been bothering me for some time now, perhaps one of you can help. Whenever Nick Johnson ( first baseman of the Expo's, last season the Yankees) bats, when he gets out or reaches base he takes off his batting gloves, shin guard etc. as most players do. However he is usually seen plcing an ivory coloured probably plastic square object into his mouth to free his hands. Does anyone know what this object is? He doesn't eat it you understand he just holds it with his teeth.
