Among Libtards!!
I have a question about money lines. I deal with a local, so I know nothing about them really. I'm thinking of opening an offshore account and would like to learn more about them. Does every game have a ML? If not, what is the criteria for a game to have a ML? Is there a book out there that specializes in ML's or has better odds on the ML usually? If anybody could answer any or all of those questions to get me started, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. :D

I've got a minute, so I'll help ya out.. A ML is a bet on a game straight up, with NO POINT SPREAD.. Like Duke/Virginia tomorrow for example, Duke is -750 on the money line.. This means that you can bet on Duke, to just win the game, but need to lay $750 to win $100, or $75 to win $10, or $7.50 to win $1, whatever amount you bet..

Virginia is +550 on the ML, which means if you lay $100 on Virginia to win straight up, you'd win $550, or $10 to win $55 etc.. Basically Money lines are straight up bets with odds..

Just ask "hello there" (the madjacks poster) what he thinks of moneylines.. You gotta lay alot to win a little, and upsets do happen.. I never bet on the moneyline unless Im picking an underdog that I think will win outright..

Hope all that makes sense.. Now, OLYMPIC has moneylines on almost ALL games where the spread is 16 points or less.. You can parlay these moneylines, parlay straight bets with moneylines and more.. I love this book..
Good luck..

hey mcity.....

hey mcity.....

I'll add something to what brandonC21 just said.

Yes, each pointspread pt/half pt. has a corresponding moneyline reflective of the true odds of the pointspread. For instance, a team with a pointspread of -4 might have a ML of -175, whereas a fave of -15 may have a ML of -1300. Conversely, a +4 underdog would have a ML of +155, and at +15, +900.

Most offshore books offer moneylines on football and basketball games. For example, I know Olympic and All World are among those that offer the most ML's. Rio has them too, but I find they tend to inflate their ML's on faves. Other books may have ML's only on televised games.

Moneylines of, say, greater than -300 do not offer much value. Too much to lose for a little gain. You probably know that many good cappers here do utilize them in parlays with other ML's or pointspreads. Minimize your risk.

I don't know if you play teasers, but often times parlaying two reasonably prices ML faves will yield a better payout than if you teased two teams just enough to win their games.

hope this helps.

thanks...

gecko...nice to hear from you again tonight. Did you look at my plays tonight? You might find it a little funny what happened to me in the arkansas game....I'm a big believer in karma, and needless to say I think I was owed that one tonight. Thanks for the help with the ML question, I appreciate it.
