Just my 2 cents and I am sure some will disagree:
I normally do not chime in on these type of things but does anyone think it is a bit funny that the government elected by the people for the people is going against something so many people partake in and enjoy? I know some people do not enjoy it but I am not telling them they have to and I do not ask the government to force them to gamble. I mean think about it, Democrat, republican, who gives a $hit it is all based on one man or woman's perspective in the end. It might just be me, or perhaps the 7 pints I have in me but why is my question? Do we want a Northern Ireland type atmosphere where people fight for religion and personal preference? It is a sad day where with a war, terrorism, school shootings, kid touchers in office and hundreds of other more important problems, the government is concerned I have a few bucks on the EAGLES tonight??. All the commercials for "rocking the vote", getting involved in the political process, government make-up and such and these are the type issues that are being addressed. I have an idea, how bout if I earn my money I can do whatever the F--K I want with it, unless it harms another individual or limits their civil liberty? If I want to drink until my liver turns orange and I pee 100 proof, if I want to eat until I look like the guy from the movie seven, If I want to listen to (and I don't) rap music with explict lyrics, if I want to play video games that have my character blowing up or killing the whole world or if I want to play every cent of money and accumulated assets on the Superbowl coin toss...... They leave me alone while I do it. I'll sleep in the bed I make. Why do I feel like the kid getting an allowance and being told not to spend it on junk? Collect your salary and live your life, I will not tell you how to live your life and I would expect the same. When my liberties are endangered I will let you know, you want to protect me from everything bad, but who will protect me from you?
