This inquiry is for Jack or anyone who wants to join into the discussion. When handicapping games, I use a lot of differnet sources. Lately, I have relied on a concise database that is called "NFL FOOTBALL X-TREME MATCHUPS" This can be found at the MadJacks site, under the DATABASE section.
It's pretty staright forward, in that it gives some trends, ATS and O/U results, and so forth.
What alarms me is that I have caught a number of blatant errors at the page, recently. I do not know who enters the data onto the page but it's not entirely reliable.
Check out this week's CAR-HOU game (cut and pasted from the X-TREME MATCHUPS page):
Carolina 6-1 4-3 1-3 3-0 4-3 2-2 2-1 19.7 17.4 2.3
Houston 2-5 3-4 1-2 2-2 2-5 2-1 0-4 17.3 28.6 -11.3
These numbers won't mean anything to you, but if you go to the page, you will see that HOUSTON is posted as playing 2 OVERS and 5 UNDERS this season. They are posted to have 4 UNDERS and 0 OVERS on the road.
This is completely inaccruate.
Houston is 5-2 to the OVERS or 4-3-1 depending on your line.
I would not bring this up except for the fact that I have noticed a number of errors of this kind at the page. I can't trust what's posted. I can certainly understand a typo or an occasional error, but this can't be happening.
Am I the only one who has caught these errors?
PS -- I saw a number of errors during baseball season, but now that it's carried over into football, that's why I'm bringin it up.
