Do you guys think that TV has hurt athletics?

A college basketball game has two 20 minute halves and a 20/30 minutes intermission (not sure on that). Thats 60/70 minutes. Why does it take 120 minutes to play a game? If they played the game the way they are suppose to play, the better conditioned teams would have an advantage. It could give a team with well conditioned athletes, but less talent a chance to beat the better talented schools.

It also seems to break momentum to. Especially in Football. I cannot stand that the little man dressed in White standing on the 20 yard line controlling the game after every change of possesion.

You are leaving out clockstoppages, such as foul shooting. But tv hasnt hurt college hoops as much as other sports. Look at the NFL - clock rules were changed solely to try and get games to end in 3 hours. Now a team can get 1 first down and take 5 minutes off the clock. It's a joke.

The double bonus was also added for tv. Some idiots thought that it would deter teams from fouling at the end of the game. If you are going to have the rule, fine, but 10 fouls is far too early.

i absolutely agree with this one. in fact, i think seven fouls is too early to be shooting the 1+1. i think 9 for 1+1 and 12 for double bonus is reasonable.

does the rule deter overly physical play? yes. but nothing is worse than watching two teams in the bonus with 12:00 left in the half shoot free throws for the rest of the game every time a guy is bumped

obviously, nba quarters allow for a better solution (5 fouls each quarter, and then a 'gimmie' foul for first in the last two minutes). teams do get penalized for excessive fouling, but it doesnt have an enormous impact on the game because they start fresh each quarter and 10 minutes (before the final 2:00) isnt a ton of time for fouls to pile up and slow the game down
