Goodbye Quinn.

A little side note. I had BU in a very small wager so I am not venting.
Just an observation.

whats really weird about the whole situation is that snyder IS a good coach. but he lost control of this program a long time ago. not sure why missouri hasn't cut ties yet (meaning before the season). snyder will go somewhere else and be a good coach. mizzou will be better once snyder leaves. but this program is a mess right now.

Gman... Gotta disagree with you, strongly. I have followed Mizzou basketball for a few years now, and consistantly his teams play well below their talent.
A few years ago with Ricky Paulding, Arthur Johnson, etc. was a great example. Paulding and Johnson were great, great college b-ball players and they struggled to make the tournament.
He also wasted the career of another very good college basketball player in Kareem Rush, and he could, of course, not reign in Ricky Clemons after taking the risk on a guy most people knew wouldnt pay off.
I think Quin is a decent recruiter, a bad coach, and charismatic enough to appease the higher-ups and boosters.
I will be sad to see him go.

:mj07: Ya Right!!!!

I agree with everything you said. The only reason he did any good when he first got to Mizzou was that he was playing with Norm's boys. He is more interested in chasing azz and powdering his nose. Wonder if he will make the end of the season???? Will be interesting to see who Bill Laurie will pick to be the next coach!!!!!!!

Good Luck

I also have to disagree with you Gman, Quinn is not a good coach. His teams are never prepared and are almost always playing from behind. Watching numerous games, you never see any adjustments and his players play like they are five guys put together in a pick-up game.

He is an intelligent guy who came from a high profile program, but that doesn't always equate to being a good coach.

I also heard something about him banging one of the cheerleaders. Anybody else hear that?

Rumor has it he was dating Paige Laurie- (Wal Mart heiress) who the arena was initially going to be named after until she was exposed for paying some subordinates @ USC to take her classes. Quin is a good dude- I have personally sucked a few down with him, but he has completely lost this squad. I've been fading Mizzou for weeks.

I have a couple buddies who go to Mizzou that say he frequents the bar scene and has been seen late drinking by himself... and, no, I am not making this up.

I dont think he is at Eustachys level, because he isnt stupid enough to drink with other students at opposing campuses, but I think the job is getting to him...

Poon, I think you hit it right on the head. Quinn is flat out a bad coach. I don't think he has ever had the respect a coach should have from his players. His teams are always playing out of control. He never seems to make adjustments during a game. Most of their wins are when they are hitting the treys are just shooting with a hot hand that night. This team does not have a lot of talent but some of his past teams had some talent that he couldn't do much with. I think Quinn is a good recruiter, but it stops there. He is a lame duck coach who is just waiting to move on. Mizzou needs to bring in a good coach with a solid coaching background. Tigers have been a good team to go against. And that shouldn't change until this nightmare season ends. He can't even get the repect from the media who has always addressed him as Quinn, until this year when he asked the media to please address him as coach Synder. He has damaged this program enough and needs to move on to greener pastures. BTW Quiinn, Paige Laurie has tons of green. You might want to hold on to her.

Ranstl, completely agree with you. I'm originally from KC, and use to like cheering for them as a casual fan (stronger alliances elsewhere). However, with so much underachieving during his years, I'm tired of it and won't pay attention to them until they get someone new in there.
