Seton Hall-Rutgers at the RAC at noon.Two of New Jersey's top teams going head to head.Tony Soprano returns tonite at the Bada-Bing and reloads.My wife is pulling for Carmela tonite.
The Jersey Turnpike at Exit 3 which is named after Vince Lombardi is giving out free coffee mugs with a free refill.I think its the Lombardi Exit.Could be the Clara Barton or Walt Whitman exits.
For you guyss that aren't from the metropolitan area the State of new jersey has names of famos people for the Turnpikes rest stops.
And the best cheezeburgers are from the the Clara barton exit.
Rac and Roll is the headline in my local paper today.RAC was recently listed as the 2nd worst place to play for opposing teams.Crowd is right on top of you.The concrete,steel,etc make the noise level insane.Calhoun calls it a "torture chamber"Lyr Cuse who won the NCAA's lost at the RAC by 3.RU beat 4 ranked teams.RU is 13-1 at home and 8-2 ats.Hall is 5-4 ats away.Overall both teams have good ats records.
SH already beat RU at the Meadowlands by 27 earlier on.So revenge,Senior day,and the rivalry of the jerseys schools is on the line.
Before I breakdown the game the winner doesn't get any big advantage in the seedings of the upcoming BE tourney.RU could finish the season with an 8-8 record but are still seeded 8th.Hall by BC beating beating Prov lost the bye game.So incentive wise for tourney purposes this game doesn't mean much.RU most likley will go to the NIT's.Hall is going to the big dance no matter what.
Hall has dominated this series.They have won 4 of the last 5 and 15 of last 20..Did win lyr at the RAC.
Hall has a dangerous team.Barrett is awesome at the pt.One of the top 5 in the country.Can take over any game with his penetration and shooting the 3.Allen is a great 2 gd and had 25 lyr vs RU.Toney-El,Sweet, and Morris who comes off the bench are all greyhounds at 6'6,6'7.
But Whitney is there stud inside.He can dominate on offense with his low post moves.
RU has no true pt gd and has no one that can score from the low post.Wiggans at the pt is a defensive player.Webb is a decent 2-gd but Shields is there best shooter.And he is streaky.When on look out.He;s a small fd or 2 gd.Lama-Lama-Ding -dong is talented.He can do it all.Score,rebound,block shots.He'll wear his Michael Jackson long sleeve arm band and will get the RAC fans riled up.But his B-ball IQ is lacking.He could get 3 fouls in 2 minuts..
Bench depth goes to the Hall.Morris can get in a game and stick a 3 in 20 seconds.Douby of RU can do the same but it takes him 30 seconds.Billemier the giant gets some playing time spelling Whitney.Axani is playing his last game today.He xcores 6 pts and 6 bds a game.Not a threat at all.He's been there for ages it seems and still can't score.Hill is the backup.
RU's biggest weakness is post defense and scoring.SH greatest strength is post offense and post defense.Whitney can dominate and is coming off a poor game vs Okafor the other nite.
This is a big rivalry,bragging rights,recruiting war,etc,etc game
Of all the teams that can handle the RAC its Rutgers jerseys cousins.Great pt gds can nuetralize "RAC-nophobia".
Despite RU's only 1 pt loss to UConn they have beaten Prov by 1,ND 11.They didn't play Pitt,Cuse or BC at home this yr.
Hall by no means didn't look great away losing to BC,WV,ND,and getting spanked by UConn last week.
