EYE OF THE WORLD - Sarvis and Radosevich perform well when they partner up. It's hard to beat a +27 return on investment for a rider and trainer. The race may set up nicely for this thoroughbred's late kick and he's probably the best late runner in the field. The morning line odds on this gelding are higher than those of the other entrant from the shedrow of conditioner Radosevich. Often the longer-priced part of a 'split' entry wins. MOVING WEST - I like the case that this gelding's last speed rating, 64, is tops in this field. BURNAWAY - Each one of this gelding's recent finish positions has been progressively better. Have to give this gelding a chance. Ran a solid effort last time out within the last 30 days. This thoroughbred isn't the morning line choice, but finished ahead of today's M/L favorite in his last race (February 6th at Mahoning Valley Race Cour). DESTREHAN - This rider/trainer duo has been producing a very profitable ROI, right at +117. Capellini brings him right back. I recommend you stay with this strong gelding.

Tuesday's 4th race (4:10pm ET) from Turf Paradise is an $8,500 claiming event for 3-year-olds and up which have never won three races. They will be traveling seven and one-half furlongs on the turf course (rail at 14 feet).

#2 Mydancingshadow (5-1) receives a turf rider upgrade to Stevens (2-for-4 w/Ranck) and he is very good with speed types as well. Today's slightly shorter distance might help and he figures to attempt a wire job at a hint of a price.

#9 Son of Eleanor (7-2) is back in for a tag and should make his presence felt throughout. He picks up recently hot rider Ramgeet and he graduated at this course/distance.

Generally accepted handicapping angle - 3rd or 4th start after a vacation generally leads to a big effort. A live one today.

CHICAGO SON - Took a big class drop last out, and I think he may have needed it. Levine enters him at a similar class level today. I'd expect an improved performance. He has the top earnings per race. Check out this animal. MARCH TOO - Several positive 'vibrations' attached to this thoroughbred and his brain trust.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 FINDING CANDY (ML=5/2), #3 PEGASUS RED (ML=7/2), #5 DISTORTED DREAM (ML=6/1),

FINDING CANDY - 5/2 is too low of a reward to take on most any horse that has run poorly in back to back races. This horse is always close, but just doesn't finish on top. Hard to play him on the win end. PEGASUS RED - In the last affair this vulnerable equine finished fifth. Doesn't bode well for his chances this time. Today's contest is 6 furlongs. Hasn't finished in the money in a short distance race in the last two months. Not the greatest of signs. This racer ran a most unsatisfactory speed fig last time out. He shouldn't show signs of improvement and will likely suffer defeat in today's event running that figure. If you keep choosing these sort of 'bridesmaid' types, you're going to be frustrated frequently. DISTORTED DREAM - In any affair of 6 furlongs, I like to support a contender that has been sharp in sprint affairs recently. This racer just hasn't looked fit of late.

BUONGIORNO JOHNNY - Faced tougher last time around the track at Gulfstream Park. Based on Equibase class figures, this is a weaker bunch, so I will put this horse on my list of strong contenders. I have to believe that this shorter trip should help this gelding. I think this gelding is ready to run a good one. He's had enough efforts since the layoff and should be fit. I like this gelding. Has the topmost (EPS) earnings per start in here. HELPER RYE (ARG) - Horse's last race was at Gulfstream Park in a race with a class figure of 97. Dropping significantly in Equibase class figure this time out puts him in a solid position right here. Look for this gelding to run much better today. Last race at Gulfstream Park finishing fifth in the slop is no sign of his true ability. You have to consider this horse in today's race. He has been claimed out of his last two contests.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 PRAGUE (ML=5/2), #1 EL KRACKEN (ML=3/1), #2 TUNEINTOBOW (ML=6/1),

PRAGUE - This horse hasn't been on the track since January 28th. Not even any drills. EL KRACKEN - Finished first in his most recent effort with a mediocre speed figure. When I look at today's class figure, it would take an improved performance to win after that in this bunch. TUNEINTOBOW - When checking today's class rating, he will have to earn a better speed fig than last out to battle in this dirt sprint.

MYSTICAL CHARM - I am keen on that most recent effort on February 9th at Sam Houston where she finished second. This horse may have too much power on the turf for the rest of the field. Moving down the stretch, she could put these away. This thoroughbred isn't the M/L choice, but finished ahead of today's M/L favorite in her last race (February 9th at Sam Houston). Another way to judge class is earnings per race. This racer has the highest in the bunch. I think she'll be close at the end. INDY GAL - Last race Feb 9th was pretty strong for a $15,000 Claiming race so this filly's race wasn't all that bad. This filly is in nice physical condition, having run a strong race on February 9th, finishing third.

Vulnerable Contenders: #8 SHAYLEE RULES (ML=4/1), #4 LADY OF ROHAN (ML=6/1), #1 MULA DAWN (ML=6/1),

SHAYLEE RULES - Just don't believe she is worth the risk at the probable odds. LADY OF ROHAN - The result of fifth in the last event shows me that this horse may be going out of form. MULA DAWN - Unlikely that the speed fig she notched on Jul 10th will hold up in this event.

GOLDEN ATHENA - Possibly a peak effort for this mare today. Been getting closer at the finish with each recent start. This mare is in exceptional form right now. Ended up first last out and comes back rapidly. I like the hard fact that this mare's last figure, 59, is tops in this group. HARD HEADED - After the race aboard this horse on Feb 17th, the jock is going to be in tune with the mare much better. Bermudez and Burke perform well when they combine forces. It's hard to beat a +103 return on investment for a jockey and handler. Sub-par try last time out at Mahoning Valley Race Cour was due to the off-going (she ran fourth). Have to give a better effort in this race without the slop. PROVOCATIVE KISS - This filly is sent through the entry box right back into a race in less than 10 days; this is a positive sign. A thoroughbred coming back this quickly after a good race is a good sign.

Thursday's 5th race (3:03pm PT) from Santa Anita is a $56,000 Maiden Special Weight event for fillies and mares dashing six and one-half furlongs on the downhill turf course (rail at 20 feet).

#5 Stylistic (5-1) finished a decent 3rd in her much needed flat mile turf return Feb 15. The lightly raced 6-year-old mare turns back 2nd off the shelf for profitable turf trainer Black and Kent D rides again.

#8 Mysterious Miracle (4-1) dueled from the rail and faded to 5th in her local dirt sprint debut at seven furlongs Feb 5. D'Amato is a profitable 20% first turf and Prat is 2-for-8 with this barn.

#9 Lookinforadanger (8-1) turns back 2nd off the shelf and Papaprodromou shows a profit dirt/turf. Bejarano rides back and he is 1-for-2 with this outfit..

#6 Silver Starlight (8-1) has not been seen in more than a year and that effort was a 6th place finish in the $200k Cal Cup Oaks. Gonzalez clicks with O'Neill and she might return running.

Friday's 6th race (3:03pm PT) from Santa Anita is a $58,000 entry level Allowance event for CA-bred or sired 3-year-olds and up dashing six furlongs on the main track.

#8 Nardo (5-1) owns an ascending numbers pattern and should sit a nice outside tactical trip under his winning rider Prat (24% w/Puype at SA, +ROI).

#2 Matriculate (7-2) beat my top in his long ago local sprint debut and was shelved after losing as the favorite in all three starts vs. winners. Spawr shows a profit with this type of layoff runner and the stalking type is training well for this.

#3 Love My Bud (6-1) improved dramatically to graduate second time out at Los Al and he earned a decent number that day. He has not been seen in 5+ months and Smith climbs aboard the returnee.

#4 Devils Informer (8-1) earned his diploma in his Del Mar debut last summer and returns in the D'Amato barn. She'll probably show speed under Maldonado.

#5 Hunted Guy (6-1) is a Golden Gate shipper seeking a four-bagger and he owns three wins on fast dirt. New trainer Glatt gives Gonzalez a leg up and he's another with speed.

BATTLE RED - Based on this gelding's recent efforts, he should profit from this race's shorter trip. Last time this gelding ran today's trip he got a speed rating that would probably win today's event. Ranked at the top in earnings per start. Another notice that this horse is classy. Ran a less than stellar race at Gulfstream Park last time around the track. Racing on a fast track puts this gelding at the top of my list of contenders. GLAMORGAN - When Nunez and Catanese join forces on horses the return on investment has been terrific at +104. Looking like a possible overlay in this event at odds of 12/1. Finished eighth in last race at Gulfstream Park but was close at the finish. Forgive the outside the top 3 finish on the off track last out. With the benefit of a fast track, has a good shot right here.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 INSPIRE COURAGE (ML=9/5), #11 PAPA FREUD (ML=6/1),

INSPIRE COURAGE - Awfully hard to bet on this entrant when he hasn't been showing any signs of readiness of late. Didn't display to me enough early zip in the route clash for me to back him in today's sprint event. PAPA FREUD - Placed much too far in the rear on Feb 12th for me to wager on at the probable odds in today's sprint clash. This racer ran a disappointing speed figure last time out. He shouldn't improve and will likely suffer defeat in today's race running that number.

#2 Tribal Jewel (3-1) earned an improved number in a clear place finish off the Baltas claim Jan 22. He is 1-for-1 on a wet track and the 3-time local winner is 0-for-7 at this distance.

#3 Perfect Set (5-2) beat Tribal Jewel Jan 22 and was 3rd as the even money favorite Feb 14. He can bounce back 3rd off the shelf.

SEFERLIS - I like this gelding a lot here. He shows a lot of consistency, finishing in the money frequently. Likes to go to the front end and the fact that today is a shorter distance should help. 71-79-87 are last 3 speed figures. Improving each time out is something he should do again in this event.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 MAXWELL SMARTY (ML=2/1), #3 EMOTIONINMOTION (ML=9/2), #7 NO MORE STRIPPERS (ML=5/1),

MAXWELL SMARTY - This gelding hasn't had any recent favorable outcomes in sprint races. Not easy to play him in this race. Doesn't really look inspiring to me after the lack of any sort of closing response on Jan 16th. EMOTIONINMOTION - Showed very little in the last race. Really don't see any chance of improvement today. The speed fig last time out doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the class figure of today's event. Mark this thoroughbred as a likely underlay. NO MORE STRIPPERS - There's speed, speed, and more early speed in this event. Doesn't look too good for this animal.
