Nfl game goes to overtime.

Team a scores a td on first possession, do they kick the extra point? Or is the game final

So if score at end of regulation is 0-0

Team a scores a td
Is the final 6-0 or 7-0 (assuming xpoint is good)

Thanks

Depends who the refs got, what the spread is, and the over/under :142smilie

Seriously though, no I don't think they kick it

if in overtime, no they don't kick the xp.

If a team scores on last play of game however, and time expires on that play, they still kick it.

Remember last year with greenbay/seattle debacle.

Golden tate "caught" the game winner and seattle took the lead 12-10 with 0:00 remaining on the clock. Both teams retreated to the locker rooms assuming the game was over. Well it wasn't. The refs, or at that point, the men who were wearing ref uniforms, asked for each team to send out 11 guys so they could kick the extra point and the game could become final. Seattle had 11 guys come out right away. Greenbay players had to be prompted slightly before coming back out. They ended up kicking it, and the game ended 13-10 even tho at 0:00 the game was 12-10 and a winner had already been decided.

In college I think the rules vary from the nfl in regards on when to kick and when not to kick xp.

What would have happened had that kick been blocked and returned all the way back? 2 points? That's why they did it in that case, I think.

Because I have seen it where they didn't kick it.

I'm pretty sure that in the NFL you can't return for 2 points that's only ncaaf, pretty sure they kick every time in NFL at end of regulation

pretty sure college doesn't kick it if time expired. Ex: Nebraska hell mary vs Northwestern this year. They didn't kick it.

Isn't the new rule that both teams get the ball once in OT so in that case if it was the first possession they would kick it... I think

nfl, in OT - if the first team scores a TD - game over, no possession for team that played defense (so no need to kick pat). If first team kicks a fg - the other team gets chance to score -- fg to tie, td to win or no score to lose

if first team does'nt score at all - becomes sudden death, next score (any) wins
