Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Not much out there. Any locals heard the latest??

Thanks to Fletcher for alerting us!

from official site:

Randy Johnson (17-4) is scheduled to pitch against Cincy's Ryan Dempster (7-11) in the finale of the three-game series at Cinergy Field Thursday night, but the Big Unit was feeling ill Wednesday with flu-like symptoms and will be examined again Thursday.

from AZ Republic:

Johnson, however, was allowed to return to the team's hotel before the start of Wednesday's game because of flulike symptoms.

If Johnson, who has allowed only three earned runs during a four-game winning streak, can't pitch, Miguel Batista will take his spot for tonight's game. Batista has allowed only two runs in his past 13 innings.

With a chance of thunderstorms looming tonight, the Diamondbacks will allow Schilling to fly to Chicago today to get ample rest for Friday's game against the Cubs

I can't imagine him not playing unless he is darn near on his death bed. I'd also assume Randy is one those elite superstars that tends to focus MORE when they feel under the weather. Bad news for the Reds.

Even if RJ doesnt pitch or leaves early, Batista as a replacement fires hard as well. Anyone have his stats against Cinn.?

Dempster is 1-2 w/4.70 era against D-Backs in 5 career starts. Dempster pitch a 4hit 6 inning stint against SD (9-0 Cinn win) Sat.

Total is 7.5, might touch the under for alittle

Johnson may be a good fade in the next few starts. After Schilling pitched a great game with a strep throat the D'Backs lost his 2nd, 3rd and 4th starts after the strep throat game. A very strong effort in the heat and humidity by Johnson tonight could set him back a bit.
