Holland has been a scorching gas can while Archer when on is flat out nasty.

This year when Archer has pitched 6 or more innings in a start, the Rays are 11-1...when he doesn?t last 6 innings, the Rays are 1-7...has pitched 166 innings this year (110 IP with Rays and 50 IP with Triple-A), a new career high (prev. 157.1 last year)...has already made 30 starts this year, also a new career high (29 in 2012).

Archer has only faced the Rangers once before...on Sep 8, 2012 at
Tropicana Field, had a career-high 11 SO but the Rangers won, 4-2, in
10 innings...his line: 7 IP, 4 H, 2 R/ER, 2 BB, 11 SO, 1 HR, 99/68...his 11
SO were tied for the 2nd-highest total ever by a Rays rookie...other Rays
rookies to strike out 11 or more: Moore, Price, Kazmir and Wheeler.

I expected the Rangers to TEE-OFF on Hellickson as he has been so inconsistent this year and not keeping his pitches DOWN as he did last year.

Holland suffered 3rd straight loss on Fri. vs. OAK, surrendering a season high-tying 6 ER over a season-low 3.0 innings (L, 3.0 IP, 8 H, 6 R-ER, 1 BB, 2 SO, 2 HR, 49
pitches/32 strikes)?shortest start since 9/24/12 vs. OAK (3.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R-ER), a game
the Rangers actually won 5-4?permitted 3-run HR to Cespedes in the 1st, 2nd straight
start to allow 3 runs in the opening frame?gave up Donaldson HR to start the 3rd, and
exited with 4-2 deficit after issuing singles to first 2 batters in the 4th (both would score on

Holland ON THE ROAD: Is 7-3, 3.34 (39 ER/105.0 IP) in 16 road starts but has lost his last 2, first
consecutive losing road starts since losing 6 straight road starts, 8/26/09-9/3/10?before
6 ER in last road start at LAA on 9/7, had permitted 3 ER or fewer in 7 straight road starts,
longest such streak of his career?his career-best 3.34 road ERA ranks 14th in the A.L.,
and he would tie a career high in road wins (8 in ?11) with a win tonight?identical 24-19
career records at home and on the road.

darvish hasnt registered a W his last 6 outings, a trend i think that will change with his next outing - slated to be vs TB

if he wins, that then would mean, holland (winning) would be a sweep

using that train of thought - do you think tex will sweep tb, or is this the spot where tb gets 1 of 3 in series?

t- this is a 4 game series....Rays took game 1 Rangers game 2...Tonight is a toss up to me. I think Moore gets the W in game 4 vs Darvish. MLB would love nothing more than a 2-2 split out of this series.
