If the league approves the deal, Atlanta gets Zeljko Rebraca, Bob Sura, and change ... while Boston gets Chucky Atkins and a pick.

Not a bad deal for the celtics to get a true point guard and only giving up James.

The Detroit Pistons won the Rasheed Wallace sweepstakes Thursday, ending his one-game Atlanta Hawks career, in a trade deadline swap that also involved the Boston Celtics, a Pistons source told ESPN Insider's Chad Ford.

Detroit received Wallace and Mike James from Boston, while giving up Chucky Atkins, Lindsey Hunter, its No. 1 draft pick and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Atlanta received Chris Mills from Boston, Zeljko Rebraca and Bob Sura from Detroit and the Bucks' No. 1 draft pick that was owed to the Pistons.

Boston received Atkins, Hunter and the Pistons' aforementioned package of a No. 1 pick and cash, while surrendering Mills and James.

Boston gets a great deal here. They give up two crappy players for two crappy players plus a first rounder. Not bad!

Can Rasheed play the 3 spot? I know he's a natural 4, but I would love to see a frontline of Wallace, Wallace and Okur.

This deal was all about cap space for the Pistons. By clearing out Atkins contract, that frees up dollars to resign Okur at the end of the season.

Rasheed is basically a rental for the Pistons this year...but he has something to play for....a new contract....so he should help the Pistons down the stretch.

James will replace Atkins in the rotation and is much cheaper. Prince can now back up Wallace and Hamilton at the 2. Dealing Rebraca might even free up some minutes for Milicic (5-10 min. a night perhaps) Larry Brown pushed hard for Wallace and got his wish. Brown better produce some results now!

A great move by detroit in my opinion. They should benefit from this, if they play their cards right. Atlanta didn't get royally screwed, but I don't think they got what the deserve, for what they gave up. And boston, well, no one really cares about the Celtics anymore...
