BTW: Trump promised my energy bills would be cut in half by now. They are much higher. He promised my grocery bills would be lower, but they are getting higher. Trump promised no more wars and then he started a war with Iran. He promised jobs but companies are laying off workers left and right. He's a complete failure that will be ranked as one of the worst presidents in US history and you have him at #1. You're a complete meatball that makes Raymond look smart.

I agree with this, but I think I can say this bc I would say you are a friend and I like you as a person; I think you’re as bad at partisanship as skulnik and ageecee if you don’t think Biden was a patently senile and incompetent boob and an embarrassment to our great country, and I think you’re better than that. Maybe you do think that but feel the accomplishments made during his term overshadow it? Very puzzling to me.

Biden suffered from the same thing many old people end up suffering from. (Including Trump) The fact that we don't have a maximum age limit to work in DC is a crime in itself. It was sinful to prop him up as long as the Democrats did. Then, when they finally did usher him out, Republicans had a FIT!

At any rate, I find the cheerleading crew for Trump here as disingenuous as anyone who denies Biden has issues. They can find every little flaw Biden ever had, but completely deny Trump's.

But, if you want to call Biden an incompetent boob and an embarrassment to the country, and don't point that same lens at Trump, THAT'S embarrassing.

As Gary mentioned, the CHIPS Act and the Infrastructure Act were big for the future of this country. The Inflation Reduction Act was pretty good, too, despite it's bad name. And he got those through a very divided Congress.

He also had the HUGE task of trying to repair our standing in the world after the previous administration. He tried to reassure the world that America wasn't abandoning them. That, as a whole, we actually DO understand the very real dangers of climate change. Etc, etc, etc. He had a giant mess to clean up and, effectively, only 2 years to do it. Under the circumstances, he actually did a pretty solid job. Well, he and/or his support staff. But they were getting things back on the right track.

Yup, the wheels really came off at the end. But he knew how important it was to keep trump from getting back into the White House and that he was the only one who'd proven he could do it. Which is why he stubbornly clung to the notion that he could/had to do it again.

Depending on where you get your news, you may believe Joe Biden spent 4 years at the border, handing out Applebees gift cards to every immigrant. But he did a decent job during a shitty time in this country.
