Ravens are over-confident

C'mon guys...don't fall for the trap 2 weeks in a row! Last week, people were chomping at the bit to see Miami was only a 2 1/2 point favorite, (MOST PEOPLE), after Baltimore had to squeak by Minnesota just to make the playoffs.
Now, it seems that "most people" are gonna be on the Ravens this week.

Baltimore's running game cleared the way for a conservative passing game by Billick and Grbac. (Miami's defense was 19th vs the run.)

Brian Billick is bragging that they are the only team to win at Heinz Field this year..."much like last year when we were the only team to win at Adelphia."
Jamie Sharper made the statement that "if Bettis knows what's good for him, he'll sit out another week."

Seems to me that alot of people are on the Ravens cause they slipped into the playoffs....but then, they won!
Christ....these guys are the first team to get swept by the Browns since 1998!

It would be a shame for Pittsburgh to get knocked out after the season they've had but I wouldn't be shocked if it happened. I *WAS* on the Raven bandwagon last week (check the posts) and I really don't see any reason to get off it now. A FG could decide this, so 5 pts is a lot. The Ravens D looked absolutely dominating the last 2 weeks. OK, it was Sturgeon Wynn, but the Vikes take over 1st and goal on the Raven 10. It took exactly one play to get the turnover. Miami's only score was a result of the Balt fumbled kick return. Then NOTHING. I have to wonder if Bettis will be rusty in his return. Cold weather is not the best thing for bad hamstrings. Its too bad both these teams have to play because I feel they are the top 2 teams in the AFC.

I know lots of folks don't put too much bearing on the regular season as opposed to the playoffs but let me put a couple of things on the table...


Pittsburgh statistically dominated Baltimore in both games, Kris Brown handed one to Balt.

Baltimore beat a dyslexic offense with Miami; which was missing its best player (Chambers). They had a very pedestrian QB and no game breaking recievers to cover. Miami's defense was a very beat up and tired unit by the end of the year. This was a massacre in the making.

Pitt is well rested.

I could be wrong but I am with pit and hope the line drops some more

That's all I can say about these two..
Won't come close to the 31 1/2.
Lots of field positioning mixed in with the ODD field goal.
Lewis should have fun chasing 'Slash' all day ,because,he will count for half of the ground game..
Thus, we HAVE to play UNDER
Final score 13-10 ,and that is being kind.I think I called a 16-13 game last week in Miami. Sort of expect to see scoring in the same area (at best).Don't really think Elvis is going to pass for as many yards,nor have all day in the pocket.
