Equipment issues hinder Baltimore's communication on final drive
The Ravens had an opportunity to tie the game on their final drive against Arizona on Monday night and nearly did before a Joe Flacco interception in the red zone sealed Baltimore?s fate in a 26-18 loss.
It turns out, though, that according to head coach John Harbaugh a hardware issue arose during that final set of plays that added to the obstacles of the final drive. As he put it, the team?s ?phones went out? that are used to communicate with the huddle.
?[Flacco] couldn?t hear [offensive coordinator Marc Trestman] and I don?t know why the phones were going out on that drive,? he said. ?But they went out on that drive.
?So Marc had to yell. We couldn?t get the personnel groups, so guys had to run the personnel group on and off. All those kind of things are really challenging when the phones are out.?
