fwiw-- here's my take on this game. I welcome thoughts from others (Jack, Bason?)

We saw Cleveland start to contain Jackson and the Ravens run by collapsing the D line just before snap. Balt did not adjust well because it required Jackson to a: recognize the adjustment and b: audible. He has thrown some truly beautiful balls but, more often than not, Jackson is very erratic and misses many easy (NFL must make) throws.

I don't believe Gus Bradley will let Baltimore run it down their throats twice within a few weeks. Whether they pack the D line from the start, or do it just pre-snap, I think the Chargers will absolutely try to force Jackson to throw and make quick decisions. For obvious passing downs, the D will play zone and disguise pressures by having guys sometimes drop back into coverage (with somebody spying Jackson).

As entertaining as the Ravens run has been, they can't stay one dimensional and win--certainly not at this level. I believe it ends today. LA is ranked 9th this season in both run and pass D. Jackson threw for 204 and 1 TD in first game and 70 of that was the TD to Mark Andrews. Take out that play and Jackson had 130 yds and no TD. As you'll recall, Ravens D also had a fumble return for TD. So other than that, the Ravens offense produced 3 Tucker FGs.

One other minor note--it's pretty gusty here in the Baltimore area today. Nothing terrible, gusts in the teens to around 20. But if it has any effect, it will be more so for Jackson than Rivers. Also, Rivers has thrown a pick on the opening drive in the last three games. I think Whisenhunt will want to minimize mistakes and play it a little more conservatively esp to open the game.

In short, for all of the reasons listed, I see a fairly low scoring game--maybe Chargers 17, Ravens 13. I also like Ravens under 11' 1H TT (2 units) and game under 7' 1Q (1 unit). Will take Chargers and buy a point to make it +3' (-140 -- I don't mind buying a point-- I play smaller amounts than most here and I like the insurance).

Now that I've written all of that -- look for the Ravens to score 40. :mj07: Gl with whatever you play.

Ravens will have to throw the ball today. If they can, they win.

SD has to protect Rivers or it is a repeat of the last game.

Points to me depends on SD's offense. Ravens will stick to conservative game plan as long as they can.

Short and sweet, but have to bunker in for the game.
