Last year, the Ravens were consistent on 2 fronts: 1) They were unbeatable at home 2) They stunk the joint up on the road, AFTER a win.
This week we have an almost exact situation as the 2011 Ravens had in weeks 1 & 2. They came out as a favorite at home in week 1 vs. a division rival and ABSOLUTELY SMOKED them. This year 44-13 over the Bengals, last year 35-7 over the Steelers. Last year week 2, they headed into Tennessee and looked HORRIBLE, getting beat 26-13 as a 6 point favorite, after looking like world beaters week 1.
This year the Ravens go into Philadelphia to play the Eagles. The Eagles are a 2.5 point favorite. So which Baltimore Ravens team shows up? The one that could not get motivated to play on the road in a non-divisional game in 2011(1-4 LY SU) or the new high powered offensive team lead by Joe "the 2nd coming of Johnny Unitas" Flacco.
This is an "in between game" for the Ravens, coming off a home Monday night divisional blowout win and a week 3 home prime time game against the Patriots, whom I would guess the Ravens have a little something to prove against.
The Eagles are coming off a week 1 "lucky as shit to win" game at Cleveland. It was a dismal performance by Vick who had 4 turnovers. I look for his numbers to be better this week.
I see the Eagles able to move the ball fairly well against the Ravens Defense. The Bengals were moving the ball quite well until the lead grew and they started to press.
I also see the Ravens moving the ball and scoring on the Eagles. THIS OFFENSE IS FOR REAL!! I don't see a 44 point game but I do see mid 20's.
Too many question marks to make a call on the side here. I firmly believe the Ravens are the better team, BUT do they forget to show up like last year, BUT does Vick throw 3 or 4 picks, BUT Will the Ravens look ahead to New England, BUT will the Eagles continue their early season woes????
My play is OVER 46
