in this pic my car is the 2nd white car from the left, raz as you can see I have chrome rims (bling bling)

Raz, in regards to chrome rims they are high maintenacne, but nothing you couldn't handle I am sure. I don't know if you drive your car during the winter, but when I store the TA I take off each rim and keep them in the house as corrosion can occur on the chrome if salt or snow get on them. I would recommend 18 inch rims on 18 inch tires, if you drive your car daily like I do during the summer especially going up to 20 inches will give you a harsh ride (though it would look sweet). basically you're giving up ride quality, handling, and comfort for looks (cost more as well)

The 18's look tiny in the wheel well, maybe split the difference and go w/19"s ? Local kid gave me a price of 6.5k cash for autocouture magnifique rims ( 20's), wald aero kit for the sc, toyo tires all put together and painted. I have the bridgestone run flats on now in the stock 18'S they are giving me 3 new ones as the stocks bubbled thru the sidewall, 4th tire is a survivor, LOL!!

I don't know where he pulled the pictures from. 1 was from autocouture showing the wheels w/kit and the other was the wald, both looked sharp. if you get a chance to check it out let me know. Appreciate the info/help.

some info I found...

Here are some basic wheel tyre combinations that can fit, if you have any more post them below.

PCD = 114.3mm Offset = 45mm

Standard Rim f/r = 17"x7"
Standard Tyre f/r = 215/45-17
(A -40mm drop is possible with this combination)

18" upgrade f/r =18"x7 1/2"
18" upgrade f/r =225/40/18
18" upgrade f/r =18"x8"
18" upgrade f/r =225/40/18
18" upgrade r =18"x8.5"
18" upgrade r =255/35-18
(A -30mm drop is possible with these combinations, however minor arch rolling is needed with the 255/35 combination)

19" upgrade f/r =19"x8"
19" upgrade f/r = 235/35-19
(A -25mm drop is possible with these combinations)
With 19's don't run any rim bigger than 8" on the front as it will hit the strut.19's will rub on the front inner arch at full lock, but this can be solved by cutting or bending away some of the plastic trim

I do think however he is not being honest about them sticking out from the arches, The 19's are flush with the arch running a 45mm offset, let alone a 35mm.
Also his rolling radius is out, a 245,35-20 tyre has a rolling radius of, 84.04" (2134.71mm) as opposed to the standard wheels rolling radius of 77.34" (1964.44mm), this is a difference of +6.70" (+170.27mm), and would put his speedometer out by 7.98%, giving a difference of -5.18 mph at 60mph. Thats enough to make a speed camera take your picture!

car isn't lowered, don't want to go nuts, just looking fto fill up the wheel wells and maybe the aero kit. You certainly know your stuff, what the heel is an offset? smaller fronts and larger backs? I want to do it it as painlessly as possible, LOL!!

Anthony, Nice,....... a real clean machine you have there I would be proud IF I were you !

My nephew has a red T/A a 1996 I think with a six speed sweet car also he has a Cavalier as a back-up/winter car.


Been busy with employees on vacation and also planning my own.

Glad to see you posted the Bird. IF you need any GM parts let me know as I might be able to save you some $$$ although the customs thing is tough these days but could hook you up with someone maybe.

Through the local F Body club in Toronto I am able to purchase GM parts at 10% above cost, if you can beat that deal please let me know.

Anthony that is an excellent price as that is what I was thinking (that is our employee rate) I also have a web site at work that has almost (maybe all) GM parts at true dealer cost as their are some what we call Wholesale Whores out there and I think I can get the info you could use as a search phrase for you if you like (not allowed to post links here still?)

The dealers do get a kickback below cost on parts that includes a discount instead of return reserve and also a 2% CFI (customer focus incentive) that is paid monthly IF certain criteria are met that is set by GMSPO.

BOTTOMLINE the freight may consume the advantage attained over +10% , depending on the item in question.
