guys, I'm looking at some surgery end of October, which is going to involve staying in bed for 6-8 weeks, that's if everything goes perfect. Usually I'm not that lucky. To make a long story short, most of this time is going to have to be spent laying on my left & right sides. My television now is on the left side of my bed because that's usually the way I sleep, and the room is best configured that way. Because the room isn't huge, I'm looking at getting one of those good plasma or such deals you can hang on the Wall, with nurses & therapist, just won't be room for another regular television & stand etc..
let me know what you think of these, I don't know anything about them Really, and would greatly appreciate any advice.:

if anyone knows any deals on laptops let me know also, would probably go crazy without visiting jacks place for 8 weeks:com: only thing would be laptop would have to have microphone, I'm not even sure if that is the option on laptops, never had one?

I can probably swing around 1500,and these were the cheapest on overstock.COM, best thing was shipping is only around 2 or 3 dollars. Let me know what you think.
Really appreciate any input

This isn't my area of expertise but some of the guys help me with a televison problems. i just want to say stay positive fella. Sometimes luck changes. No need to feel bad before the outcome. Think positive when it comes to health problems. If your in the hospital for any length of time make sure you have your kids(if you have any) or family visit you non stop. This is the single best thing you can do for yourself and i hope you have a friend or a family member in the medical field. Get them to visit keeps the nurses doing their job.Good Luck

Don't know if you are a Sam's Club member or not, but you they have many options in plasma or LCD's. I just got a 37" Samsung LCD. It is nice, about $1600. You can also use the USB port on the TV to plug your laptop or tower into. Also might want to check Tiger Direct. They have competitive pricing. Good luck, hope you recover quickly.

i know nothing about televisions, but I hope your surgery is a success. If I'm right, I have a friend who's gone through the same surgery several times, and I've also taken care of patients with the same problem. It sure helps to have something to fight the boredom.

I won't mention the type of surgery I'm guessing you're going to have since you didn't, but If I can help you with any questions, don't hesitate to email. GL!

OK......here I go again:

There is only "ONE" place in the entire world to buy a TV and that is Costco, Yes I said Costco. Why should you buy your new TV at Costco. Well, it's plain and simple: You can take it back for either cash or a replacement any time you want. Now listen to this carefully:

"There is NO time limit on returns, None, Nada.

Example: You buy your new TV and 2 years later it breaks or maybe you don't like it anymore, or the picture quality isn't as good as you think it should be>>>>>>>>>>>>> Take it back. I have found that it make it much easier if you tape your receipt to the box and save the box, they like to see the box and receipt, but not mandatory.

Last week I bought from Costco a 42" Vizio LCD. It is the most amazing picture I have ever seen, better then my old plasma.

go hang out at notebookforums.com and slickdealz.net. Subscribe to the "dell coupon" threads. Every now and then a few BIG coupons that are stackable will be released that you can use to order a new Dell. I waited and waited and back in July was able to stack 2 coupons worth $1400 total. Got a $2200 laptop for $800.

just wanted to say good luck w/ your surgery. i had surgery 2 yrs ago and was stuck in bed for a couple weeks, so i remember what that was like. pretty tough for me mentally/psychologically, moreso than the physical pain. so i kinda know what you're about to go through. but i can't compare to 6-8 weeks. a nice tv will help :)

TJBELL:

I know your kidding with me, but I play by COSTCO'S rules. I visit Costco at least once a week and think it's an amazing store. Sure I take items back if I'm not happy with them. So if a company like Costco has a return policy like they do, it just stimulates business don't you think? I play by there rules, they made them.

Another satisfied customer........................

The Boys........is this true about Costco return policy? I have a 57" I bought from there 4 years ago and one of the color tubes burnt out......the TV is in storage and I want to buy a newer plasma. Can I still take the tV back? I don't think I have the box, nor the receipt but the TV was about 1,900. Is there a time limit on returns? I got an estimate and it will be about $500 to fix the thing...........I would just as soon buy a newer model.

Shamrock...sorry to invade your thread......good luck with the surgery! I have my own next week, but it is only a biopsy.

My opinion is that you can still return it, a receipt would help you cause. If you paid by check try to get a copy of the check, if you paid by credit card try to get a copy of that. If none of that is available I believe Costco will have you in there computer system. I fully believe they will take it back..................TJBELL what do you think???
