Reasons to consider the OVER tonight

yes,I only play OVERS and yes,there is only 1 game tonight but I am leaning towards the OVER tonight:

BTW my College/NFL OVERS are 9-4. :)

Total seems a little high but:

Last 10 PITT/SD meetings OVER is 8-2
Pitt has gone OVER 3 out of last 4
OVER is 12-3 last 15 SD Home games
Teams are 5-2 for the OVER this yr combined

Pitt is avg around 27 ppg - SD 31 ppg.

SD put up 45 on NE this yr and has scored 40+ pts last 2 games.

Yes,both teams will run the ball,but that only opens up the passing game...both teams have big playmakers and this is MNF....Im looking for OVER 50 tonight. :mj14: :clap:

I would never play the UNDER on this one...either OVER or nothing.
Too much scoring and too many weapons to think this goes under.

Steelers offensive line was embarrassed by NE, SD offensive line handled NE in Foxborough very well.

Defensive line for Steelers is very good for a 34.

Linebackers are all dinged up on Steelers. The good teams seem to do a very good job of blocking them even when healthy. They are terrible for over pursuing, which Patriots love to eat them alive with. 21 for Chargers could put up big numbers.

Secondary is average at best, if Chargers pass block reasonably well, which they should, then Steelers loose this battle.

Roethlisberger has had his cherry popped in the regular season now, so his mystique is fading.

So I think Chargers can put up 40 to 45 on there own in this one, and for that reaon OVER looks like a great play.

Wow...that would be nice,but Im not sure they put up that many....I think both teams are in the high 20s to mid 30s....gotta be 50+ pts in this one.

no way SD will score 40 points tonight it may go over but it won't Be because of SD blowing out pitt, LT will have to catch more passes tonight and think his receiving yards will be the key to game.

also SD is allowing 22 ppg... Pitt is allowing around 12 ppg.. I am kind of scared to pull the trigger on the over... I may play pitt but quite likely its a no play for me

I dont know what the current status of injuried players are, but the bye week had to help Pitt recover somewhat. It just seems to easy to take the over, based on each teams avg scoring on offense for the year. I also want to throw out another stat:

In games this year where a team just came off a bye week, the Under is 5-1. Really though the Under is 6-0 b/c one of the games went into Over Time.

Hou/Cin 26 U44
Det/Tam 30 U34.5
Sea/Was 37 O36.5
(depending what you got Sea/Was only went over by .5 point and the game went into OT)
NYJ/Balt 16 U31.5
Chi/Cle 30 U35
Mia/Bur 34 U35

SD/Pitt O/U46.5 ?????

Good Luck on the Over...as I've stated before I hate going under on Monday Nights because I've seen some crazy crap happen over the years.

Those are all good things to point out. I'm only guessing of course.

I still think at this point in time Chargers are a better team. The Jets and Patriots have laid out the blue prints for beating the Steelers, and if not for a poor perfomance by the kicker last year, Jets would have had them.

Steelers are outcoached by good teams, Cowher is one of the best motivaters in football, but not the best coach. Steelers are very slow to adapt during a game, if at all.

True Steelers can often get the job done on talent and motivation, but against good coach's who also have a good team they seem lost.

So, Chargers for the win I think, and the OVER is still a good play.
