Texas +3 over OU ***
The 1st time I ever heard of the red river was I think a John Wayne movie . Then in 1969 as a freshmen at North Texas some of the guys in the dorm convinced me and my roommate to drive down to downtown Dallas and watch the pre-game friday night festival. It was bumper to bumper cars beeping their horns at each other either sticking their heads out the window giving a hook'em or down hook'em sign. There were 100s of police all over the down town streets and paddy wagons on every corner. We needed to make sure you had your id and draft cards with you. I had never seen such a parade like this. I do remember cars coming up to us looking to see if we were Texas or OU fans as we walked the down town side walks . we were yelling Mets since it was in the middle of the World series between the Mets and Baltimore . I remember 2 toilet commodes had been throw out of some Dallas hotels and police officers were checking draft cards Think there was more police then crowds The paddy wagons were filled and the next day in the Dallas morning news it reported over 800 arrests . My North Texas buddies and myself were all drunk but we stayed clear of trouble. I do remember getting carded about 2 or 3 times . Anyway I realized for the 2nd time how Texans hate Oklahoman's and vice versa. the 1st time was in a Science lab 1st semester when our lab instructor was from Oklahoma. For 10 points of extra credit on a quiz question number 10 was " What is the greatest capital in the US". And don't forget I'm from Oklahoma " So as he collected the tests at the end of the period he read over and over again Oklahoma City. And smiled . So I turn my quiz in and and put Albany N Y He looked at me and smiled saying " you ain't getting any extra points.. He wanted all those Texans to kiss his ass and they did. But not me the fool who needed those extra points more then anybody. thick headed fool and 50 years later haven't changed . anyway it was then I realized Texans and people from Oklahoma aren't to fond of each other.
Then the following year I started dating a tall skinny Texan from Paris Texas . Paris is in East Texas about 12 miles south of the Oklahoma border. My 1st night in Paris we drive up to Hugo ,Oklahoma and cross the state border line the Red river .. We pull over because I want to see this river.. It was red alright . Red mud or red clay So the red river is red .
What does this all have to do with saturdays game, nothing .. just a back round on the red river rivalry I don't know who even won the OU-Tex 1969 because at North Texas we had Steve Ramsey the No 1 qb in the country and we were No 1 in the nation in passing. And although these 2 southwest conf teams were playing each other I thought North Texas would beat them if they were allowed to play each other. Nobody wanted to play North Texas because the year before with Mean Joe Green and co they beat undefeated Arkansas when Ronnie Shanklin caught a Ramsey TD pass that the southwest refs ruled incomplete . they claimed he trapped it but watching it on 16 mm tape it was never trapped .
Have a lot on the Texas-OU game . Bjorn is now being mentioned on some Heisman lists . I bought all my racquetball buddies here in Austin a $5 ticket for him to win the Heisman . This week there all excited and I told them all I want his my $5 back you keep the winnings. It was 20-1 back later to break this game down

I played Texas +4 1/2 (bought) when it first came out. OU has been skating by weak to mediocre teams all year so far. I don't think that they can keep up with Texas.

IMO the play of the weekend is Alabama -16 1/2 over a&m. I'm not sure that aggy even scores. Plus, this summer Jimbo Fisher said at one of the a&m preseason rallies that "he was going to beat Saban's ass". I'm thinking that 'ol Nick may have that quote pinned up somewhere in his office. Bama by 30+!

Coastal -21 over Ark St ***
Think McCall will start . Last yr Coastal won 52-23 With almost everyone back they are 5-0 beat Citadel,Kansas, Buffalo U mass and UL Monroe 52-14,49-22,28-25, and last week UL monroe 59-6. They were 11-1 last yr so in last 16 games they have won 15. Last year I saw them destroy Tex St and score 50. McCall is some qb dual threat with an arm He was banged up last game but think he will start. Ark St has 9 defenders back from last year giving up 52 points same this year. Ark St defense will have big time problems tonight.

Will come back and post a few more games
Love UTSA+3.5 over WKU *****
Wrong team is favored back later

Texas +3 over Oklahoma ****
So much info on this game ..try to recap some .. Texas has one of the best rushing offensives in the country. Since Thompson has been inserted as a qb starter Texas on a roll blowing out Rice and Tex Tech. BUt Texas offense is run 1st and with Bijon Robinson he is almost unstoppable .. OU hasn't faced someone like him and their No 1 plan is to stop him. OU hasn't played up to pre-season expectations since all their wins 5-0 have been by one possession or less except Western Carolina 76-0. They just beat Tulane 40-35,Nebraska 23-16, West Vir 16-14, and K-state 37-31. Rattler who has been booed last week, was 22-25 vs K-State . He hasn't been living up to pre-season hype But being booed is something new. OU fans expect Murray or Baker. But Rattler was booed after saying our Fans " have never played football" shut up Rattler and grow up . maybe your not as good as all the pre-season Heisman talk but you still are pretty good "gunslinger". Texas has lost last 3 vs OU. Last yr tex qb threw 6 td;s and still lost in over time
Think new coach Stark who gave the ball to Robinson 35 times last week vs TCU knows his bread and butter. Think last year Robinson got 5 or 6 carries in their over time loss. OU has not played up to its talent yet but Texas has Robinson. Texas defense has problems and almost let TCU last week come back to win it. OU last week also played bad vs K-St.
This will be the best teams either has faced yet. If OU loses they are not playing in the final 4. If Georgia blew Arkansas out and Arkansas blew Texas out there is no room left. OU could win all its games they are still left out because the Texas win doesn't mean that much anymore ..
If Texas wins they have a better shot at the final 4 but it still doesn't look good on their resume.
This game comes down to the qb play. Thompson whose father was a qb at OU is 0-25 on the long pass. He has to connect on one of them maybe not 0-25 . Rattler might have awoken after last weeks performance but OU does not have a featured RB and OL is good but not great, DL is solid but vs Robinson your linebackers and def backs backfield will make the tackles because he has already blown past you guys.
Think Texas doesn't need the + points and wins outright and will see what the moneyline play is
Back later

Cincinnati -30 over Temple **
No way they aren't focused after big Notre Dame win Cats in the past have had trouble vs the Owls Beat them 15-13 2 yrs ago last yrs game cancelled due to covid The years before Cats lost to Owls 17-24.24-35,13-34 26-34 . This yr Cinncy has riddler a dual threat qb and temple defense who let Rutgers score 62 pts against them are in trouble. Temple also lost to BC and avg team 28-3 .. Cinncy beat a good Indiana team 38-24 and last weeks ND win 24-13. Think Cats unleash a little tonight and get a big home win .Fickell won't let his resume be stained and will be at another school next year. Bearcats win big

back later
UTSA +3.5 over WKU ****

I hope Sark uses K. Robinson especially in the second half. When the OU defense gets a little tired of tackling B. Robinson and Ro.Johnson, K's speed with surely give him a chance to break some longer runs. K.Rob could be a difference maker. Hook'em Horns

Dog lover no doubt that sark is lulling OU and Lincoln to giving the ball to 5 again and again and then running a misdirection to Keilan and he is off to the races. talk about speed its Texas's secret weapon Sark wanted to use it vs TCU and Ark but his assistants beg him to save it. You and I and many Texan fans knows its coming. Lincoln think he knows but by the time they run it Keilan will be in the end zone and the announcers will be saying something like
the Alabama transfer sure is fast How are you doing? hoops season is getting close. Wow this Texas team looks unreal Not sure of pre-season rankings but think they are a top 10 team.

hope you and your wife are doing well the tv,radio and racquetball crew here in Austin are close to making me a Longhorn homer.. I've been holding out wearing my North Texas Mean green hat and shirt but am weakening . As long as I don't have a breakfast taco I'm still a new Yorker but those Corny dogs taste nice. Think stark has some special plays today that is has been hiding. I can see a pass out to Rocshon in the flat who throws a wide open wr. Good luck today Think your burnt and orange boys win outright this morning. Still having trouble with Central time game is at 12 but here at 11 am Going tonight to see So Bama- Tex St in san marcus

UConn -3 over UMass ******
Love Huskies big today The 2 worst teams in the country. 0-12 combined .rank in almost every category 128 or 129 or 130 in " you name it " Think 130 is the bottom number. Offense .defense rushing passing passing defense, pop corn sales soda revenue . Uconn fired their coach 2 weeks ago But believe it or not the Huskies have been playing better almost beating power house Vandy and have been more competitive in last few games Uconn has covered in last coupe games and the minutemen haven't Last yr they beat UMass away 56-35. That was their season high . And the good news is UMass has 7 def starters back from last yrs blow out. Uconn wins by a touchdown ..

UTSA +3 over WKU ****
UTSA is 5-0 and WKU 1-3 but WKU has lost to Army Indiana and Mich st . WKU has the top qb in the country in Zappe who is avg 428 yds. But the Roadrunners have the best Rb in the country in Sincere McCormick Harris a lefty qb has an arm and has outstanding wr's UTSA defense is tops in the conf. They have a 5'5 midget kicker in Dupless who has an unreal leg. I guess when you are 10 feet from the players you get a different perspective. Sincere is about 5'8 200 and built like a tank Harris the qb is skinny bit is a dual threat Cephus the wr is about 6;3 or 6;4 and skinny but lightning quick and Franklin is about 6'1 or 6'2 and then I remember their back up qb Adkins was throwing the ball in warmup 50-60 yds When harris went down last yr he stepped right in

Texas +3 over Oklahoma ****
stark has kept a few plays in the vault so will surprise Lincoln and co Just give the ball to Number 5 over and over again and then spring Keilan another Robinson speedster after all 11 OU defenders tv crew camera men announcers and 25 million fans realize bijon doesn't have the ball the other Robinson is in the end zone

Have to babysit and run

So bama -3 over Tex St ****
2 youngest coaches square off today . Tx st lost 2 in a row Covid problems depth and defense. So bama plays defense and think they will stop weak Tex St offense. Bama runs downhill and tx state defense is in trouble Major Applewhite is the new So bama off coord and he was in Austin this week and is still a hometown hero . Bently is a solid qb but he hasn't passed much this year They beat B Green and So Miss and lsot to Laf La by 2. Think they win by a few touchdowns . will be in row 5 tonight .

SMU -13.5 over Navy ***
SMu has had problems over the years vs navy but SMU has the 3 best wr;s in the country and their OU tranfers qb is connecting Navy is down and have to play from behind the entire game

Col St -2.5 over San Jose **
TCU -2.5 over texas Tech **
Gary criticized Texas for giving the ball to bijon 35 times Well maybe if you gave your ball to Evans 25 times you might of won

Bama -18.5 over Tex AM **
Bimbo you coached at Bama are good friends with Saban why would you give Bama bulletin board material by saying " we are not in awe of Bama "

gotta run not sure if there is a line on my In-car-knit Cameron ward team yet If its under 10 points I'm going to take Incarnate
Like Texas UTSA Uconn So Bama

Uconn gets beat by UMass Not sure what the heck was I thinking. the 2 worst teams in D-1 going head to head. UMass wins big.

Lost So Bama in over time to Tx St . lost SMU and Bama
Won with UTSA Coastal,Cinny,Col St and TCU ..thank god UTSA won out right . I have a prop bet Over 8 wins.. They are 6-0 and to win the CUSA . Roadrunners if they stay the course could go undefeated .. Not sure if even Incarnate played this week couldn't find them in extra games yesterday
