Texas +2.5 over Oklahoma **
The 2 Alphas of the Big 12 are hurting.. OU loses to and TCU upsets Texas.. Both teams defense are horrendous and both teams cannot tackle .. yet both teams are leading the nation on offense. Texas all week cannot look at the TCU tape. The 2 cornerbacks of TCU shut down the 2 wr's of Texas where Er linger was 1-11 for 20 yds. On a 1st and goal the Tex rb extends the ball to break the plane and it gets swatted away.. he extended it on the 3 yd line .. wait till your near the goal line knucklehead. Fumble.. a few huge plays for Texas but penalties negated them . Texas is so overrated and sloppy and totally undisciplined;; Herman fired all his def coaches last yr and replaced them ..they are still bad maybe worse.. .they are sloppy in all phases of the game ..from special teams ,offense,defense..Herman makes excuses after excuses but after the TCU game he couldn't anymore. " self inflicting, mistakes after mistakes, penalties, etc etc last week Foster a 4 star db quit the team at halftime .. But Herman "cuddled him back and he led in tackles vs TCU.. he wasn't getting enough paying time ..are you kidding me.. you walk off Goodbye..It took me a few years to realize the main problem is the coach.. No discipline ..Last yr Texas ranked No 1 in the B-12 in penalties ..that;s coaching.. fire everyone and bring in new coaches oops they again lead in penalties... Stop cuddling these guys.. a friend of mine was at the game vs TCU.. There was a defensive breakdown for TCU.. Patterson ran over and got all 11 together in a huddle and you could see him chewing out every player..in there face..you could see some of it on TV but my buddy was saying..he was animated and almost uncontrollable...
The play of the game Tex-TCU is when Duggan the TCU qb in the 4th qrt did a qb keep up the middle for 12 yds run and scored untouched When they asked Patterson about that call" he said " they gave us the middle with no Lb's there.. our off coord in the booth was screaming for that play . Duggan the qb saw it and before they called in the play he was going to do an audible on his own.... unreal

After the game Texas was in shock ..quotes like 'self inflicting wounds, shooting our selves in the foot, penalties players out of position,wr's not running their routes, tripping on our own feet, no consistency etc etc. problems in the locker room internal. Delay of game on punts not to get better field position..ineligible linemen down field ... So Erlinger the qb had a team meeting and a press conference It was really good and down to earth.. he admitted he played bad too but this team needed some unity .. leadership etc. discipline ..he is the team leader and a senior.. respected by everyone even though he had more incompletions than completions that day.. But don't apologize gotta run back later to finish my bad

"You know, there are only two things more beautiful than a good gun: a Swiss watch or a woman from anywhere."

(I'm guessing someone will "get" that reference.)

Good to see a take on this game other than the popular "take the Over."
Sometimes, when I watch the decisions these head coaches make, I wonder why they make so much money. With some, I wonder why they are paid any money at all.
Herman is a member of Mensa, but sometimes I think he must have cheated on the exam or something.

It's gonna be a fun game to watch, and I do want a $-rooting interest,
so I'll ride shotgun with you on the Longhorns.

Rookie Rattler looked rattled in the fourth quarter vs K St and TCU, tossing INT's on the final drive in both games. In what should be a tight, back-and-forth game, the experience at QB should be the difference in then end.

Red River rivalry in Dallas at Jerry world..no more cotton bowl so much info and trends.. Think Herman the most overrated coach and overpaid coach in sports is finally hearing it big tome from the Texas fan base " something is wrong here in Austin" this team has not gotten over the hump and his 3 yr record is 27-16 with no Big -12 title .. This team pays little attention to details,is undisciplined ,inconsistent etc How do you change this cultural . There recruiting class the past 3 years is in the top 10 in the nation.
So Ehlinger had enough and addressed the team in the locker room and held his own press conference. He is a 4 year starter at and and the team leader ...thought everything he said was right except he apologized. Sam,don't apologize...there area lot of problems on your team, from all the social injustice about the "eyes of texas "song,to Foster walking off quitting and then being allowed to come back ,to penalties, drop passes fumbles miscommunications on both OL and DL lines. Corner backs that turn there back to the ball and have no idea where there man is or the ball. and over 75 missed tackles..probably more but just the texas stat that came out.
Oklahoma is down this year with an erratic Qb,poor running game and a defense that could be worse then Texas's .
I like the Texas this week because I really think Herman has conveyed to his team his career could be over despite the $25 Million owed to him. He has been criticized with " kid gloves with the media,,newspapers fans students..its over He makes excuses over and over again. When they beat Tex Tech 2 weeks ago with all the mistakes and penalties his excuse was " there 18 and 19 yr old kids, they make mistakes". But the week before Texas blew out UTEP 55-7 and he never said those were 18 and 19 yrs old kids ..

Both these teams have a sense of they have to win. Lose this game and your out of the B-12 championship. K-St and iowa St showed that the OU defense can't stop anybody But on offense they are potent.. so you have 2 good offenses vs 2 defense's that are bad.. so of course play the over.. but life isn't that easy and when its looks so over I say take the under ..
Texas beat Tex Tech in OT and had an emotional loss over TCU.. OU is 1-2 and if Texas doesn't beat them this year when the Sooner 's are down it might be years before they ever get this chance..both teams are rivals and recruit from the same high schools .. The Texas state fair is closed and they are only allowing 12,500 fans from each school .. no corny dogs are being sold and Big Tex has a mask on him .. but the rivalry is real . My 2 favorite stories about this game..
I was a sophomore at North Texas in 1969,being from NY. My lab instructor in Anatomy was a guy named Harry and he was from Oklahoma . He would always bragging about Oklahoma and the Texans in the class would would give it back to him . The Friday before the OU-Texas game on a quiz for an extra 10 pts bonus question was ' What state has the best capital in the US? and in parenthesis was " don't forget I'm from Oklahoma." So he collected all the quiz's as the class was over and was reading out them out loud as people left the lab,, Oklahoma city,Oklahoma City,Oklahoma City. Then he read Albany NY and stopped.. he looked at me and said :\: your not getting the bonus 10 pts Yankee. I laughed
and walked out. The bastard didn't give me the extra points and I needed them since I got a 60 . Yes I stubborn 19 year old fool ..
and that year I met a co-ed from Paris,Texas .Paris is on the border of oklahoma and Texas and the Red River separates the 2 states.. So visiting Paris we went over to the river.. It was red..holy cow .. I think it was the red clay in the river but the river was red..

Will take the +2.5 for the longhorns but its a small play maybe the under for a small play
Back later with tex St,UTSA and a few more

The RRR has never been played at Cowboys Stadium. It's been played at the Cotton Bowl stadium on the east side of Dallas forever. Texas is a mess right now. Herman has lost the team. There is no team cohesiveness. If I bet this game, I'd take the over. Neither team can stop anyone.

Earlier in the week Brian Jones, a former UT linebacker and now CBS analyst, called out the current UT players.
To paraphrase: he said they were playing like a bunch of entitled pussies. UT has plenty of talent, they just need to start playing up to their talent level. He said the d-line needed to start playing like Georgia's, pushing opponents back, making something happen and not waiting for it to happen. I hope someone told the players what BJ said.
Go Horns!

Texas +2.5 over OU ***
So much talk on this game..so many trends ..think it comes down to this Texas team was built for this game now . Many seniors including E at qb starting 4th yr. This team was built for this season. OU is rebuilding with so many players now playing on Sunday. Herman is on the hot seat and when Nuishisal on CBS suggested Meyers could be a good fit everyone went crazy. Urban to Texas...which is really not true we don't think But if OU wins during there reconstruction period Herman really is in trouble .. he has recruited 40-50 3,4,and 5 star players and has a record of 27 wins in going into his 4th year. they don't ...Lincoln has had tremendous qb transfers lead his program.. now he has a home grown kid in Rattler who needs time to get better. Lincoln lost so much in running backs and wr's from last yr his new guys are still in the learning process.
Think Texas wins this outright and both defenses will have trouble containing each other so the over is the play/ The 6 beat writers for the Austin stateman all have this game going over. So I think the under will cover.. but I'm so bad in over and unders that I need to fade myself . so I will take the over like everyone in the Northern hemisphere and then fade myself I like the under today

Troy -7 over Tex St ***
Last yr I was at the game and took Troy -7 over Tx St. It was my 1st time at Bobcat stadium ..near the field during the warm ups you could see the size of the troy players.. their qb Barker was firing warmup passes like a cannon. went to my phone and added a few more **'s to the game. I didn't have a notebook like I do when I go to the Tx St basketball games so this is from my memory . Barker threw 4 or 5 or 6 touchdown passes They blew tx St out of San Marcus. Final score was 63-27.. Vitt the Tx St qb was terrible and ended up with 4 or 5 interceptions and at the end of the game threw one that was returned for 95 yds or more.
Barker to me was a pro qb did he ever get drafted I wonder. he graduated
Tex st has improved seeing 2 of there games already almost beating SMU .. They went up to BC last week and lost on a Fg by 3.. So although they are 1-3 this is a very good team. McBride started for Tx vs BC. He is back and I love this kid. Vitt who did well in his replace when he was out 2 games for c-19 is listed today as a possible starter.. no way McBride will start. so that helps the Bobcats. But Troy lost Barker but have 7 returning players that caught or scored in last yrs game on offense. And although McBride will behind the center think Troys will be to much for the Bobcat defense to stop.
Now if I wasn't at he game last yr think I would take the much improved Bobcats +7. But that memory of these Troy players have a left an imprint in my brain and although BYU blew troy away Troy returned and blew Mid Tenn away.

Byu -34 over UTSA ****
Hate giving up that many points but BYU although beat some weak defenses will see another weak defense today . UTSA gave up 48 pts to Tex St. BYU has an Ol that protects Wilson who has numbers in passing in the top 3 or 4 in the country. They have a good rb and a solid defense. And to make matters worse Atkins the backup qb who replaced harris last week has a cannon of an arm is out for the season. Harris has a knee problem and still might not play today So they could start there 3rd string qb UTSA has Sincere McCormick one of the bst rb's in the country I think .. I keep saying this because I think I should be his agent if he gets drafted. But BYU knows this and should bottle him up all game. Harris is a running qb with a weak arm after 10-15 yds But he is exciting to watch but BYU defenses know him think BYU can score 40-50 points today on this defense and BYU can shut out Sincere and co.

Miami +14 over clemson **
Think King himself can keep this close.Only lose by 10.

La Tech -14 over UTEP **
Char -3 over my North Texas **
BC +5.5 over Pitt **

Good luck today
53-def no corny dogs at the Cotton Bowl today
E-3 thanks
rbd a red shirt freshmen qb could have problems
longhorn I knew it was at the cotton bowl but had a senior moment.. seem to be having a lot of those recently
