thats absolutely laughable. regardless of the outcome of the yanks/red sox series, that was still an awful line vegas threw out there on the red sox/yankees series. sox had no business being favored. now theyre favored -160 over st.louis or -260 over houston? i guess in a sense books figure theyll get a lot of 'casual red sox money' from the average guy who wants to root for the curse to end. but does anyone really think those lines are accurate? schilling is still one ankle twist away from being done, and the sox rotation is all messed up from the new york series.

Agreed, on the lines. My thoughts are this if the Red Sox play the Cardinals I think they might be able to beat them, I think they have a better chance of beating the Cards than the Astros. Why? Plain and simple - pitching. Both teams have great hitting, no doubt but I think the Sox have a better chance of beating the Cards.
Who are you leaning towards tonight? I'm taking houston, I know it is a heavy consensus play and most of the money is on houston but the consensus plays have been clicking as of lately as we saw last night.

ive got no need to play this game tonight, but i have a vested interest in houston winning. ive got them to win the world series at +900. im a little pissed that garner threw lidge 3 innings last night. the whole point of starting munro was that houston could go clemens/oswalt/lidge in game 7. the cards couldnt come close to matching that. now im worried about lidge. maybe im worrying about nothing, because he is so damn good right now and hes damn near got a bionic arm. i dont like the fact that boston won game 7 in new york yesterday either. obviously, the events are mutually exclusive, but odds are never in favor of 2 teams winning on the road in game 7 in the same season. like i said, maybe im worried about nothin'. astros are playing really well and have a huge edge in the pitching department tonight. go 'stros.

good points about the lines being f'ed up and the casual red sox money is the reason why. I think you're wrong about their rotation though, with the series not starting until saturday they're lucky, the rotation will get full rest pretty much with the order being Pedro/Schilling/Lowe from what Ive heard, so the rotation stuff doesnt get screwed up like it would if game 1 of the WS was tomorrow. now for sure theyll all be emotionally drained and maybe have a 'letdown' for a game, but stl/hous is also game 7 so theyll be drained too, should be a great culmination to the playoffs though, and a helluva playoffs its been, lets kick some ass in college ftball this wk, looking forward to your col hoops picks b/c its not my best sport since afew yrs ago when it became a fkin hassle to follow everything all the time but college sports still offer more/better spots than pro, take it easy

Where are they going to play Ortiz when they are on the road. He will have to sit and that my friends is there big clutch hitter. Also can't wait to see Pedro hit as he is scheduled as a game 3 starter. If Houston wins he will pitch against Roger Clemens. I definately would love to see that!

Know your role before you start talking about the Red Sox. They should be favored in both series and they have the better pitching and hitting. The sox rotation is not messed up. They have the rotation that way so Shilling will only pitch in Fenway so he will not have to bat and Shilling and Pedro if needed will pitch game six and game seven respectively. It's a smart move by the Sox.

Now the reason the Red Sox are favored......with absolutely no cutdown to the Cardinals...they are a good team but the National League sucked this year..........Los Angeles and Atlanta both won divisions with terrible pitching staffs..........IMO the national league with the exception of St. Louis was'nt that good. I find it amazing that St. Louis did so well without any big name starters........should be a good series but I would definately make Boston the favorite.......
David Ortiz will not sit in St. Louis.......i believe he will be at first base..........thats where he played before he became the DH.......

Interesting series, my lean is to Boston but I feel the a fair line would be down close to pk, not the heavy chalk I'm seeing. Looks like the best way to go about it is to play single games for this one.
I am loving the chalk and will take it with the Cardinals. I look for a similar let down by the Red Sox similar to the Yankees of last year after the ACLS. Should be a good WS to watch. Looking forward to the matchup. GL
