I think they cover the 25 easily if they throw the ball more than usual. The Panthers are starting a whole new set of defensive backs. While I wouldn't consider this bunch of Hawkeye receivers to be anything more than average in ability, there is still a big talent gap between a top 25 ranked D-I team and a top tier I-AA team like UNI.
Iowa will probably be content to pound the ball on the ground with the multiple running backs that will get a look on Saturday, though.
With Hampton on the sidelines for as long as all year, the Hawks need to find a someone able to carry the rock 25+ times a game. O'meara is getting the start, but the word is the 2 kids behind him are the real deal and it would be nice to see one of them step up and earn the job Saturday.
I see the final in the neighborhood of 38-7. Is Iowa capible of scoring 50+ on the Panthers? Probably, but unless UNI turns it over a lot, I don't see it happening.
if I play it, it won't be for too much. Many other games look better to me at this point in the week.
You going to make it back for a game this fall? Check yer e-mail....
